K.L.N. College of Information Technology (KLNCIT)

K.L.N. College of Information Technology is the first self-financing Co-educational Engineering college in Madurai, started in the year 1994, with a focus on Information technology. It was started by the munificence of Philanthropists and Well-wishers belonging to the Sourashtra community, a linguistic minority in Tamil Nadu.  Mr. K.L.N. Krishnan has rendered yeoman service to Sourashtra Arts & Science College and Sourashtra Girls Higher Secondary School, Madurai.  He also promoted a Polytechnic Institute under the name of K.L. Nagaswamy Memorial Polytechnic College in Viraganur, Madurai in 1983.  KLNCIT functioned in the premises of the above polytechnic during the academic years 1994-95 and in 1995-96 was shifted to its own premises in the year 1996.  The College, a co-educational one, is sponsored by K.L.N. Sourashtra College of Engineering Council consisting of eminent industrialists and academicians led by the Founder-President Late Mr. K.L.N. Krishnan.  He was a pioneer and a great visionary legend in small scale industries and had rendered yeomen service to the cause of education particularly women's education. Dr. K.N.K. GANESH, an eminent Engineer and Industrialist, succeeded his illustrious father as President and is currently the Secretary of K.L.N. Sourashtra College of Engineering Council and Correspondent of KLNCIT, assisted by other Members of the Executive Committee and the Governing Council.

KLN College of Information Technology is situated in a large Campus spread over 36.67 acres on the south eastern outskirts of Madurai, 12 km away from the city on the Madurai i - Nedungulam Road, Near Pottapalayam,   Sivaganga district, Tamil Nadu. The college is adjacent to the KLN College of Engineering.

The college is approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and is affiliated to the Anna University, Chennai. It is also an ISO 9001:2015 Certified Institution.

KLNCIT offers 14 diverse courses for Degree program in Full Time mode.  The college offers a number of diversified UG programs, which are designed to meet the learning aspirations of students from various backgrounds. When it comes to choosing a good Institute for higher learning, K.L.N College of Information Technology comes to mind. Student has the option to choose courses like M.E./M.Tech, B.E. / B.Tech with diverse streams of Engineering. The Institute provides an excellent opportunity to students to gain proficiency & expertise in the specialization of Communications Engineering, Construction Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering. The college Placement Department provides Job Placement Services, Hands-on Industry exposure to previous year students and Internship Programs assistance and the final year projects for all the Final year students of Engineering UG and PG courses under Government organizations and Corporate bodies. Personality Development programs are also available for the students.

The sprawling KLNCIT campus has eight blocks consisting of large, airy and well-lit Class rooms provided with LCD screen, comfortable steel desks and benches.  The campus has a multi-storied well-stocked Library with video facilities, air-conditioned Computer Laboratories, latest Computer systems, Multimedia, and Scanners. There are Department-wise Laboratories, an engineering drawing hall as well as Staff and students room.  KLNCIT provides additional facilities and infrastructure like Auditorium, Boys Hostel, Cafeteria, Girls Hostel, Gym, Hospital / Medical Facilities, Hostel, Shuttle Service, Sports Complex, Canteen, Seminar Hall, Conference Hall to the students.

Training and Placement Cell is functioning with Training & Placement Officer, Associate Training and Placement Officer along with two staff members as co-ordinator from each department and student representatives as members of Training and Placement Cell.
