The Kovai Medical Center & Hospital Limited was incorporated as a public limited Company on 29th August 1985. The company has been promoted by Dr. Nalla G Palaniswami and associates.

The Kovai Medical Center and Hospital Ltd. (KMCH) started functioning as a 250 bed hospital on 24th June 1990, and today has grown into a 1000 bedded super specialty hospital in Coimbatore, offering a total and comprehensive healthcare solution for various ailments. KMCH Hospital is the most trusted Multispecialty Hospital in the Western Tamil Nadu region.

With its vast experience in the clinical arena, Kovai Medical Center and Hospital Ltd., has now proposed to expand its wings to the Medical Education sector. It is proposing to start a medical college in the name of KMCH Institute of Health Sciences and Research from the academic year 2019-20.

The medical college is located at 99 A, Avinashi Road, Coimbatore. It has direct access from the Avanashi Road - National Highway 544 and is very near to the Coimbatore International Airport. The Academic block of the KMCH Institute of Health Sciences houses the Dean’s Office, Lecture Theatres, Library, and the Pre and Para clinical Departments. The institute has a separate Medical College Hospital. The hospital provides outpatient and inpatient services in all specialties including General Medicine, Paediatrics, Psychiatry, Dermatology, TB and Respiratory Diseases, General surgery, Orthopaedics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Dentistry.

A new state of the art 650 bed hospital facility housing the future expansions of the project is one of the institutions newest offerings. KMCH institute of Health Sciences has got approval from the State Government. The Essentiality Certificate (Ref No., (4D) No.5/McA-2/2018., dated 16.05.2018) has been issued by the Health and Family welfare Department, Government of Tamil Nadu. The Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University has issued the Consent of Affiliation (Ref No.:Affln.III (3)/13226i2018 dated 29.06.2018) of the college under The Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University, Chennai.

Admission Procedure

The KMCH Institute of Health Sciences and Research, Coimbatore, primarily uses NEET scores for MBBS and DNB admissions. Candidates need to register on the NTA website for NEET and then appear for the exam. After the results, the Tamil Nadu state counseling process manages the seat allocation, including government, management, and NRI quotas

L'Oréal India For Young Women In Science Scholarships: This scholarship offers ₹62,500 to eligible female MBBS students with a total household income below ₹6 LPA. 

SC/ST Scholarships: Students belonging to SC/ST categories with an annual household income below 2.5 Lakhs can avail a scholarship of ₹43,000.
