KMG COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCE was established in the new millennium 2000 and the visionary the philanthropist Sri.K.M.Govindarajan, the founder of KUNJA KOUSALYA AMMAL GOVINDARAJAN EDUCATIONAL AND CHARITABLE TRUST, GUDIYATTAM. The mission was to offer Higher Education in the fields of Arts, Science, Teacher Education to the needy poor and middle class students belonging to this area at an affordable cost and make them fully employable and economically self dependent. The College was started on 10th September 2000 with the permission of Tamilnadu Government and originally affiliated to Madras University and subsequently permanently affiliated to Thiruvalluvar University and recognized by UGC under section 2(f) & 12(B) of the UGC Act 1956. From a humble beginning of 5 Undergraduate courses started in the very first year of starting the college, the college now offers 10 Undergraduate courses, 8 PG courses and 6 M. Phil & 5 Ph.D. Research programs in the sprawling campus of 15 acres of land at Ammanankuppam just 3 Km away from Gudiyattam & one Km from Gudiyattam Railway station.

PLACEMENT PROCESS
ATTENDANCE & PUNCTUALITY
A student who applies and gets shortlisted is bound to go through the entire selection process unless rejected midway by the company. Any student who withdraws deliberately in the middle of a selection process will be disallowed from placement for the rest of the academic year.

LATE COMERS FOR APTITUDE TEST / GD / INTERVIEW may not be allowed to appear for the selection process.
DISCIPLINE: Students should maintain discipline and show ethical behavior in every action they take during the placement process. Any student found violating the discipline rules set by the company or defaming the university name will be disallowed from the placements for the rest of the academic year.
Students found cheating or misbehaving in the selection process (PPT / Test / GD / Interview) will be disallowed from the placements for the rest of the academic year.

JOB OFFERS
The Offer Letter issued by the Company. The copy of the offer letter is required to submit in the placement Cell.
If a student is offered a second job, he/she must give a letter of regret to the company, which offered the first job and a letter of acceptance to the second.
After accepting a job offer, if any student decides to withdraw his/her acceptance any time during the year, he/she must inform the company concerned through the PC immediately.
Post Placement: If any reasons the Company will stop joining of candidates so College is not responsible for that. The company shall be intimated of the offer acceptance within three days of the release of the offer.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions: The fee amount is enough for the valued courses and the fee amount is not more. The scholarship amounts are for the eligible persons, the scholarship amounts are for minority students and other PWD students. Merit-based scholarships are also provided.

Library
The library is well equipped with reading rooms, books, E-Resources, Periodicals and newspapers. The Library is totally Air-Conditioned with seating capacity of 100 students, the library houses 14,958 books, Back Volumes, Theses, Magazines and Journals. There are ten computers installed in the reading room ability, using which the students can access digital library with wi-fi facility.
Playground
Spacious play grounds including modern basket ball court, tennis court, volley ball court, cricket and open gymnastics are available for students to enrich their sports talent.
Internet Lab
The college maintains Air conditioned computer with seating capacity of 60 students and houses more than 50 machines, all are intercomieted through Thin Client networking technology. Also the lab has been provided with a high speed broad band internet connection.
Canteen
Canteen facilities are available for boys and girls separately.
Seminar Hall
The college maintains an air conditioned seminar hall with seating capacity of more than 250 students, which has excellent facilities like LCD projector, Audio and video systems.
Auditorium
The college has an excellent Auditorium with seating capacity of more than 1000 students. It includes the facilities like Audio and Video systems. The National, State Level Seminars and other important functions are being organized very frequently here.
Class Rooms
Hostel
Separate hostel facilities are available for boys and girls in the campus. Staff members act as hostel wardens and take care of the students.

Transport
Transport facilities are available from all required places to enable the students to reach the college in time.
