With a view to cater the needs of Technical Education in Saurashtra region of Gujarat; Morbi Technical Institute (MIT) was established in 1931. His highness, Honorable Late Lukhdhirji donated his palace, which was constructed on 40 acres of land on the banks of river Machhu for MIT in 1951. Thus, MIT was renamed after him and in the later years, was upgraded to its present state as an Engineering college, presently known as Lukhdhirji Engineering College.

Initially as Lukhdhirji Engineering College offered conventional degree and diploma courses in Engineering like Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. Gradually, the diversified disciplined like Industrial, Production, Power Electronics and Information Technology, Chemical Engineering, Applied Mechanics were introduced at degree level and Ceramic, Metallurgy, Electronics and Communication at diploma level. The institute is approved by AICTE and affiliated to Gujarat Technological University.

The Lukhdhirji Engineering College, Morbi UG admissions are done through the GUJCET or JEE Mains entrance examination and as for LEC PG admissions the institute accepts Gujarat PGCET/ GATE/ GPAT entrance exams. Candidates must meet the LEC eligibility criteria of the course they wish to pursue.

Training & placement cell of the institute facilitates the process of placement of passing out students from the institute. Our institute holds the pride of place, being pioneer in the field of engineering and technology. The office liaises with various organizations, establishments which conducts campus interviews for graduates and post graduate students. The T&P cell provides infrastructural facilities to conduct online tests, group discussions and interviews besides catering to other logistic. The office interacts with the companies for campus interviews for on campus as well off campus. The dedicated team includes TPO, Co–TPOs, faculty coordinators and student coordinators from each department. The placement season runs through the course of the year commencing from July to March. Pre-placement talks are also conducted in this regards. We also invite alumni, corporate personnel to share their knowledge.

Boys Hostel
LEC facilities provided for its male students consist of well furnished hostels with about 346 rooms in total and hold the capability of accommodating over 1,000 students. The rooms are well furnished and have other facilities like, modern appliances and equipment, free wi-fi, 24x7 water supply and electricity, and more.

Girls Hostel
The LEC campus has hostels for female students with approximately 48 rooms and a capacity of about 144 students. The LEC facilities provided at the girls hostel are the same as boys hostel facilities. Wardens of the hostel cater to the safety and security of the hostels.

Medical/Hospital
There is a medical clinic available on the LEC campus which provides basic first-aid and medical treatment to all the students, faculty members and staff for free. The LEC facilities at the medical clinic provide professional and trained medical officers to cater to the students and staff.

Library
The library has a vast collection of books and online subscriptions to several national and international journals, reference books, newspapers, periodicals, magazines, and more available at LEC Morbi. The library has separate rooms for reading with approximately 41687 volumes of books in Engineering and Architecture, and online subscription to about 43 national and international journals available for the LEC Morbi library.

Sports
The LEC infrastructure provides indoor games and outdoor sports facilities like sports room, badminton court, cricket equipment and ground, football ground, table tennis table, chess, carrom, and many other sports and games. There are other separate fields as well that are maintained by the LEC Morbi.

I.T Infrastructure
The LEC Morbi has a computer centre which manages all the computing facilities of the institute and provides modern computing facilities for project and research work to its students, faculty members and staff. The LEC infrastructure at the computer centre currently has about 526 computer systems which are connected through CWAN (Campus Wide Area Network) which provides a wi-fi speed of 100 MBPS.

Cafeteria
The cafeteria is well-ventilated. The cafeteria serves fresh meals to the students and staff members at reasonable prices.

Auditorium
The LEC Morbi facilities for extra curricular activities include seminar halls which are used to organise conferences and seminars at the institute. Laboratories
Lukhdhirji Engineering College Morbi facilities at laboratories consist of modern instruments and apparatus to enhance the academic and research experience of students. There are approximately 58 laboratories and workshops available and accessible by students and staff on LEC Morbi campus.

Morbi is well connected from almost all parts of Gujarat through State Transport service. It is 70 Km. away from Rajkot district place. Morbi is around 190 Km.
