About Us

The Gokula Education Foundation (GEF) was established in the year 1962 by Hon’ble Founder Chairman Dr. M. S. Ramaiah, a visionary, philanthropist and educationalist who pioneered a galaxy of institutions encompassing every field of Education with the sole objective of serving the society. Today it runs several educational institutions having independent infrastructure, faculty of high caliber with effective and interactive teaching skills.

In the year 1995, the Hon’ble Founder Chairman M.S. Admission Process

Eligibility Criteria For Admission
a) An applicant who has successfully completed Pre-University Course or Senior Secondary School course (‘+2’) or equivalent such as (11+1, ‘A’ level in Senior School Leaving Certificate Course) from a recognised University of India or outside or from Senior Secondary Board or equivalent, constituted or recognised by the Union or by the State Government or from any equivalent institution from a foreign country recognised by the government of that country for the purpose of issue of qualifying certificate on successful completion of the course, may apply for and be admitted into the course.

Provided that applicants who have obtained +2 Higher Secondary Pass Certificate or First Degree Certificate after prosecuting studies in distance or correspondence method shall also be considered as eligible for admission to the course.

Provided further that the applicants who have obtained 10+2 or graduation or post graduation through open Universities system directly without having any basic qualification for prosecuting such studies are not eligible for admission to the course.

b) Minimum percentage of marks in qualifying examination shall not be below 45% (44.5% and above shall be treated as 45%) of total marks in case of general category applicants and 40% (39.5% and above shall be treated as 40%) of total marks in case of SC and ST applicants.

c) Maximum age for seeking admission is limited to twenty years in case of general category of applicants and to twenty two years in the case of applicants from SC, ST and other backward communities as on 1 st June.

The Placement and Internship Committee of the Institution envisions that the students of RCL shall use their skills gained in the law school to learn, gain experience and create an impact in society with regard to their internships during their times in law school or their employment post law school.

Objectives:
The RCL Placement and Internship Committee’s objectives include:

creating a platform for students of the Institution to obtain meaningful internship opportunities during their time in the law school; and
create opportunities for their placement into employment in a variety of fields ranging from but not limited to law to public policy.

Functions:
The functions of the Placement and Internship Committee of the Institution includes:

providing soft skills training to students on communication, legal skills and management.
assistance in networking and profile building of students.
Creating a database of students available for placement.
Creating a database of organizations available for hiring.
Assisting students with calls for internship either received by the law school or brought to the committee by the students.
Maintenance and improvement of networking among law firms, policy and think tanks and other organizations.

Scholarship

UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS
M S Ramaiah Memorial Scholarship Scheme 2023 – 24
The Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences rewards excellence with scholarships. Students can choose to apply for a Merit Scholarship (that is, either a Scholarship of Distinction or a Scholarship of Excellence) or an Admission Test Scholarship.

MERIT SCHOLARSHIP
Eligible undergraduate students can choose to apply for a Scholarship of Excellence or a Scholarship of Distinction.

M S RAMAIAH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME 2023 – 24

ADMISSION TEST SCHOLARSHIP
Undergraduate students can also apply for Admission Test Scholarships. The scholarship amounts vary based on a student’s RUAS AT marks.

Eligibility

Only students admitted under the University’s Direct Admissions Rules are eligible to apply for university scholarships
Students are eligible for only one Merit or Admission Test Scholarship in an academic year
Students must have School Leaving / Board Examination / Institution Grade Pass Certificate
Process for Application

Students interested in any University Scholarship must download the Scholarship Application Form and submit the completed form along with the required documents to the Director of Admissions
The Scholarships Awards Committee will then assess and approve eligible applications
In cases where incomplete applications are submitted, the Committee will get in touch with students and ask them to submit the required documents
Students who do not qualify for scholarship will be notified by the Committee and will also be provided with reasons for the rejection of application
Please note: All students who apply for scholarships must pay the full tuition fees as well as other fees at the Accounts Department of the University. Once approved, the scholarship amount will be directly credited to the student’s bank account and the student will be notified.

MAINTAINING SCHOLARSHIP
Students who have received Merit Scholarships in any year will be eligible for a scholarship in the next year provided that they have secured the minimum prescribed CGPA marks.
A student who is ineligible for renewal of a Merit Scholarship in one year can apply for the scholarship the next year upon securing the required CGPA marks.

Library
The college has a well-equipped library with state-of-the-art facilities and over 10,000 books including text books, reference books, periodicals, journals, national and international law reports. Students can avail borrowing rights and photocopies of books. The management has given top priority for the development of library. It is our policy to have a collection of valuable books pertaining to contemporary legal issues apart from subjects included in the curriculum. Students also have access to online legal databases such as Manupatra and the Laws [CD version] for legal research.

Computer Lab
The college has a computer lab established with internet facilities to enable students to enrich their knowledge with modern technology.

Moot Court Hall
M. S. Ramaiah College of Law has a spacious, well-furnished Moot Court Hall to conduct moot court competitions.

Auditorium
The college has auditoriums to conduct seminars and guest lectures.

Hostel & Canteen
The management provides separate residential hostels for boys and girls. The residential hostels are managed by the Chief Warden with the help of resident wardens. Admission to the hostel is made on a first come first serve basis, subject to regulations made by the management from time to time. Right of admission to and expulsion from the hostel rests with the management. Application for admission to hostel can be obtained from the Chief Warden, which should be submitted along with the prescribed fee. A canteen is situated in the premises of the institution where healthy and wholesome food is served.

Parent & Student Information System
The college provides a student information portal with access to authorized persons having login id and password, where students and parents can obtain information about attendance status and test/exam results. SMS alert facility is also provided by the college to parents to give any important information relating to their wards such as attendance, test results, upcoming event in the college.

Membership Programe
Mentoring is a unique method supporting students to improve their learning and leadership skills, motivating them towards their future career development. With this in mind, the college has a mentorship programme wherein the faculty are given training on mentor system and meet the students on day-to-day basis to listen to the issues of the students and guide them on their overall personality development.

Medical Facility
There is a hospital with all super specialties to take care of health issues of students. Students can also avail insurance benefit schemes.

SPORTS COMPLEX
There is a sports complex in the campus for all indoor and outdoor games. The sports committee conducts the selection for the inter-college sports meets and tournaments.

The college offers separate hostel for boys and girls within the campus with individual well-furnished rooms, to carry on their assignments and study peacefully. The hostel provides mess facility with healthy and wholesome food.

CAFETERIA
Within the campus, for the day scholars, there is a cafeteria within the campus which provides food and beverages that suits varied cultures.

MEDICAL AND HEALTH CARE
There is a hospital with all super specialties to take care of health issues. Students are provided with health insurance scheme. The campus has a Yoga Centre, Gokula Ayush Arogyadhama and a Fitness Centre.

For the safety of the students, the college is under constant CCTV surveillance.

Transport

Transport

Transport is an optional facility offered by the school to children. The buses are owned and run by the school itself. The school takes every possible precaution to see that the children travel safely to school and back. Each bus has a female support staff in addition to the conductor and driver to ensure safe passage. The drivers are carefully vetted and chosen for their cautious driving. In any case, speed governors have been installed to prevent over speeding. The buses are company models designed to carry school children.
