Madha Medical College & Research Institute was established by Loordhu Ammal Educational Trust, Chennai in the year 2011 as a self-financing Christian minority institution for providing medical education, research and health care.  Dr. S. Peter the Founder and Chairman of Madha Group of Academic Institutions started rendering educational service with an objective of developing the younger generation intellectually and socially responsible citizens.  He has provided scholarships and fee relaxation to the deserving and needy students, particularly showing immense interest towards educating the girl child which is obvious by the preference extended to the female candidates in his institutions.

The Madha Medical College and Hospital campus is spread over 30 acres of land in a sprawling area with excellent infrastructure.  The college is located at Kundrathur Main Road, Kovur, Mangadu, Thandalam, Chennai, Tamilnadu.  It is very near to Kovur Bus Stand, just 1 Km from Kundrathur, 2 Kms away from Porur, 5 Kms from Pallavaram Railway Station,  and 10 km from Chennai Airport.   It is strategically placed within Chennai city well connected by Road and Railway.

The College is affiliated to The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai and recognized by National Medical Commission (NMC) with an annual intake of 150 seats in MBBS. 

Madha Medical College and Hospital is a private medical college that offers UG and PG courses for budding Medicos offering courses like MBBS, MD, and MS, the college also offers diploma courses in various specialties like Medical Laboratory Technology, Radiology Technology, and Nursing.  Admission is based upon National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) Ranking.  The eligibility for MBBS is a pass in 10+2 examination or its equivalent examination with 50% marks.  For MD/MS the candidate will need to complete   MBBS degree or its equivalent.
