The state Government of Maharashtra has established and incorporated an independent University of the health Sciences for the purposes of ensuring proper and systematic instruction, teaching, training and research in modern medicine and Indian system of medicine in the State of Maharashtra and to have balanced growth in the medical sciences so also in uniformity in various courses in medical faculty in the State, and to provide for matters connected therewith and incidental thereto.

It was with this objective the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences was established in Nashik city of Maharashtra State on 03rd June 1998 by promulgating the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences Act, 1998. However since inception, the foundation is celabrated on 10th June, every year. Initially, the University was functional at Gangapur Road, Nashik. In 2004 University headquarters shifted to Mhasrul, Dindori Road, Nashik at its own building.

The Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) is guided by a strategic agenda providing right direction to the health science education in the State. Its consistency of purpose, its goal and mission will no doubt help health science education and thus health & education services to reach a high level of elevation.

The vision of imparting quality education in a systematic manner by using innovative teaching & learning skills which will enhance the skills of the students.

Mission 

Dissemination, creation, preservation of knowledge and understanding by teaching, research, extension and service and by effective demonstration and influence of its corporate life on society, in general, with specific objectsas provided in the MUHS Act, 1998.

MUHS Application Process 
MUHS Nashik offers admissions to various UG, PG, and Doctoral courses on the basis of either entrance exams or merit in the previous qualified examination. The aspirants need to appear for national-level entrance exams such as NEET UG and NEET PG for some courses while the university itself conducts entrance tests for others. Admission to a few courses is also based on merit.

For admission to MUHS Nashik through national-level entrance exams such as NEET UG, NEET PG, and NEET MDS, the candidates need to apply for the exams first through NTA. Once qualified, the seats are allocated based on NEET counseling. For other university-based entrance exams, the students need to apply on the MUHS Website.

Now, search and click on the ‘Application Form’ tab on MUHS Website
Download the Admission Brochure.
Read all the instructions and details carefully.
Register for MUHS Admission with personal details to generate the application number and password.
Now, login and fill out the MUHS application form with educational details, exam medium, and exam city preference.
Upload the required documents, Signature, and Photograph.
Pay application fees of INR 1000 through Debit/ Credit Card or Net Banking.
Take a printout of the application form for future reference.

MUHS Admission Selection Rounds
The students need to register themselves for respective counseling after clearing the entrance exams.
The university will release the merit lists accordingly.
The students will be allocated seats in different affiliated colleges based on their rankings.

Fees Payment & Admission Confirmation
The students are required to pay the admission fee for the particular course once the seats are allocated.
They need to get their documents verified in order to confirm their admission to MUHS.

Placements

All Colleges affiliated to the University have well-functioning Placement Cells and have placement services for students in the medical field. The main objective of the University are as follows:

MUHS Scholarship
Maharashtra University of Health Sciences offers Scholarships to candidates who belong to the reservation quota and hail from Economically low backgrounds. Here are the details about MUHS Scholarships:

If the students of reservation categories score 75% in their Higher Secondary Examination are eligible for a scholarship.
For students who are physically challenged, the university provides financial aid for them too.
Apart from that, MUHS sponsors a scholarship under the Sports Quota.

The University provides various scholarships in the following categories:

Students who hail from the SC/ST/OBC quota are eligible to get a scholarship if they secure a 75% in their Higher Secondary Examination
Students who hail from the Minority communities are eligible to get a scholarship if they secure a 75% in their Higher Secondary Examination
