Malankara Catholic College (MCC), Kanyakumari, is a private, self-financing arts and science college located in Kanyakumari district, Tamil Nadu. Established in 1998, the college was founded and is managed by the Malankara Catholic Diocese of Marthandam with the vision of providing quality higher education rooted in academic excellence, moral values, social responsibility, and holistic personality development. The Malankara Catholic College Library, functioning on the second floor of the dedicated "Lady of Annunciation Block" since 2019, serves as a vibrant hub for discovery, reflection, and knowledge expansion. Fully automated with Wi-Fi and online services, the library supports students and faculty with world-class resources, including printed books, e-journals, national dailies, and digital archives. The college has a well-furnished auditorium located in the main block. It has a seating capacity of 500 audiences. The auditorium is regularly used for activities such as seminars, cultural activities, important functions, meetings of students and faculties, department functions, and other institutional events. Our college has a well-equipped Seminar and Conference Hall with the most up-to-date audio and visual equipment. We use these facilities to hold seminars, conferences, presentations, workshops, and other events that assist students to learn more by allowing them to hear from experienced, learned, and scholarly persons — an enriching experience not feasible in a standard classroom setting.

Students and staff spend nearly 6–8 hours on campus every day. A hygienic canteen ensures timely breakfast, lunch, snacks, and safe drinking water – essential to prevent fatigue, acidity, and loss of concentration. Keeping this in view, the Malankara Catholic College canteen functions inside the campus, providing quality catering facilities at moderate rates for both students and staff.

St. Mary’s Hostel is located within the serene Mariagiri campus, providing a home‑like atmosphere conducive to academic focus and personal growth. The hostel is managed by the Daughters of Mary (D.M.) Sisters, ensuring discipline, care, and moral guidance.

Hostel Rules & Regulations

• Admission is offered to girls only.
  
• The applicant should be accompanied by her parent or guardian at the time of admission.
  
• Admission is for one academic year; readmission depends on character and conduct.
  
• Students must adhere to meal timings; inform warden/mess in charge if unable to attend.
  
• Visitors are not allowed inside the hostel; only persons mentioned in the admission form may meet in the parlor with prior permission.
  
• Visitors not allowed after 6:00 PM.
  
• Leaving home: permitted only on the second weekend (Friday/Saturday). Return by Sunday 6:00 PM or Monday 8:30 AM (parent to accompany if delayed).
  
• No permission for shopping trips or friend’s house visits; essentials to be purchased during home visits or brought by parents.
  
• Going home without written parent/guardian permission or skipping classes will lead to disciplinary action.
  
• Modest dress code; nightgowns not permitted outside rooms.
  
• Keep rooms, surroundings, and toilets clean. Wet clothes not to be aired inside rooms.
  
• Do not enter kitchen or give orders to cooks; complaints to warden directly.
  
• Students must bring their own mattress, mosquito net, bucket, mug, plate, tumbler (steel), cutlery, and toiletries.
  
• Keep valuables locked; hostel not responsible for lost goods. Report loss to warden.
  
• Mobile phones are strictly prohibited.
  
• Strict silence during study hours. Room lights off by 11:00 PM.
  
• Inform warden immediately if feeling unwell.
  
• One month’s notice required to discontinue hostel stay; otherwise full month’s mess & rent payable.
  
• Leave requests to be submitted before 10:30 PM the previous day (except emergency).
  
• All hostelites expected to attend common prayer; Catholics encouraged to attend daily Holy Mass.
  
• Gross misconduct or violation of rules may result in dismissal from hostel.
  
• Incoming telephone calls: 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Emergency calls attended round the clock.
  

A full-fledged transport department functions in the college with buses to provide transport facility to students and staff from various places of Kanyakumari and Thiruvananthapuram districts. This service is offered ensuring a hassle-free and safe transportation. Students from rural areas/outskirts can also access quality education without worrying about connectivity. Our trained staff (driver and conductor), fixed routes and fixed timing helps the students to reach the college and home on time; and thereby reduces the anxiety of parents. This transport facility is also used for various educational purposes like field trips, industrial visits, recruitments and also support to extension activities like NCC, NSS and sports. We provide the bus facility for students at minimum operational cost. At present the college operates a fleet of 15 buses.
