More than half a century ago, the philanthropist in and around Kolenchery, under the auspices of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, envisage a noble initiative to care for the sick and the destitute which gave shape to the founding of Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church Medical Mission (MOSC Medical Mission). In addition to MOSC Medical College Hospital, the Medical Mission runs top rated educational institutions namely MOSC Medical College, MOSC College of Nursing and MOSC Institute of Allied Health Sciences.

The MOSC Medical College Hospital started in 1970 with 100 patient beds has now grown to a well known 1100 beds multi specialty hospital with state of the art investigative and therapeutic facilities. We have celebrated our golden Jubilee of 50 successful years of the hospital in 2019 - 20. At this juncture we thankfully remember the Founding fathers Late Mr. Chacko Pillai (Founder Secretary), Dr. K.C. Admission to Diploma(DIP),Doctor of Medicine(MD), Master of Surgery(MS) available in MOSC Kolenchery are based on the NEET PG entrance exam conducted by NBE . Doctors can take admission through All India level counselling (50% of MD/MS seats) or through Kerala state level counselling (50% MD/MS Seats).

The process of counseling for MBBS in Kerala is conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examination Kerala. NEET counseling is usually conducted online through Centralised Admission Process (CAP) in three stages, including a mop-up round.

Requirement of the admission process

Eligibility Criteria: The student is required to clear or passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English as mandatory subjects and must have achieved a minimum of 50% marks in combined of all subjects (40% marks for SC/ST/OBC candidates). If a candidate is filling all the criteria then they are qualified for NEET-UG.

Application Process: The application process for MBBS admission in Kerala is done online. Candidates have to go to the official website of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) and have to fill up the application form. The fee for the application forms for General category candidates is Rs. 1000 and for SC/ST candidates, it is Rs. 500.

Merit Cum Means (MCM)

The scholarship is to be awarded for studies in India in a Government or private institution, selected and notified in a transparent manner by the State Government/Union Territory Administration concerned. It will cover technical and professional courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate level. The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to the poor and meritorious students belonging to minority communities to enable them to pursue professional and technical courses.

Application process: Eligible students can lodge an online application in the National scholarship portal and a copy of it should be submitted to the educational institution for verification.

Studentship Scheme

The studentship scheme will be notified by the Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur from time to time.

E Grants

E-grants is educational assistance to all the post-matric students of SC, ST, OBC as well as economically weaker sections of society in Kerala.It provides provision for making online application, processing and sanction of educational assistance. Students pursuing post-matric courses approved by the university/board and admitted under merit and reservation quota can apply for the grant. Students with attendance not below 75% at the end of each month can avail the grant.

Application process: Students who are eligible to apply for the grant can lodge an online application in the e-grants portal. The same should be verified by the office personnel of the concerned institution using institutional clerical login. They should scan and upload the government-approved fee structure in the online portal. Once the uploaded fee structure is approved by the e-grants department, the application should be verified by the Principal, who will forward the application through the Principal portal.

Freeship Scholarships

Freeship scholarships are those offered by any private or non-governmental agencies. If a student applies for any such scholarships, the college office shall provide requested documents including fee structure, bonafide certificates as per the institutional guidelines.
