Mangalore Marine College & Technology is a premier private Engineering College established in 2010 in Karnataka. Mangalore Marine College of Technology is an ISO 9001:2008 Certified Institution which is affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi and all the General Engineering Courses are approved by AICTE, New Delhi.  It is the First and the only Institution in Karnataka State to be approved by The Directorate General of Shipping, Govt. of India.

The MMCT campus expands over an area of approximately 1.2 acres of land in Padil Padavu, Kelinjar Village, Kuppepadavu Post, Mangalore, Karnataka.  The College is strategically located in a pollution-free serene environment that helps foster intellectual growth, thereby making it an ideal destination for learning. This made it possible for MMCT campus to be purpose built with infrastructural facilities that could be leveraged for peaceful and stress-free learning experience.

The College offers a number of UG programs in Marine related Engineering Courses, namely:

1.   General Engineering Courses - BE Marine Engineering, Marine Engineering (Lateral), Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science Engineering. 

2.   Pre-Sea Courses - BE Marine Engineering, Marine Engineering (Lateral) and Graduate Marine Engineering (GME).

The eligibility for admission to these courses is based on the scores obtained in the KCET/COMEDK UGET Entrance Exams.

MMCT is a completely residential campus, offering the best stay to the inmates. The environment is specifically designed to meet requirements of students. Academic features include Hi-tech Classrooms with Wi-fi and A/V aids, fully-equipped Laboratories, Computer Centers, Conference/Seminar Halls, Library, Physical Training, Swimming & Boating practice, Sports & Games, Transportation, Training Infrastructure and Faculty.

State-of-the-art laboratories for Modern Physics, Chemistry, Thermal, Fluid Mechanics, Strength of Material, Electrical and Electronics, and Refrigeration have been instituted within the college premises. The facilities are complemented by basic engineering skill and workshops such as Bench Fitting Shop, Lathe Workshop, Special Machine Shop and Welding Workshop with an area of more than15,000 sq. ft. This apart, the colleges also has marine workshops with modern marine equipment and AUX machinery for practical and professional training. The computer laboratory is equipped with the latest software’s to keep the cadets updated on the current industry trends.

Admission Criteria

B.E Admission

Mangalore Marine College & Technology (MMCT) offers admission to its B.E. program through the entrance examinations, KEA-CET and COMED-K . The minimum qualification requires the candidates to pass 10+2 with specified marks. They should also be fluent in written and spoken English, and should not be more than 25 years of age.

KEA-CET is a state level offline examination conducted by Karnataka state followed by counselling. COMED- K is also a state level entrance examination conducted by Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental of Karnataka.

MMCT follows a simple application process. The application forms can be downloaded from the college’s website or availed from the college campus. Candidates will have to pay the respective fees at the time of application. Payment can be done online as well as through Demand Draft, drawn in favor of MMCT payable at Mangalore.

Placement

The college has a full-fledged Training and Placement cell whose primary aim is to provide all possible counselling and assistance to the students in their efforts to find suitable employment. The main endeavour of Mangalore Marine College & Technology is to get students placed in reputed multinationals & the private sector. The Mangalore Marine College & Technology assures support to the visiting companies at every stage of the placement process by making college infrastructure available to them. This commitment is demonstrated by the presence of a full-time Training and Placement Officer.

Eligibility: Students admitted in AICTE approved institutions & courses in : 1st year of Degree/ Diploma level course OR 2nd year of Degree/ Diploma level course through lateral entry. - Max. two girl child per family. - Total income of the family < Rs. 8 lakh per annum. NOTE: Students must have cleared 10+2/10th in 2020 or 2019 or 2018 for taking admission in the first year in Degree/Diploma courses respectively in the current academic year. Saksham Scholarship Scheme (For Specially Abled Students): Provides financial assistance to specially-abled students pursuing higher education (Degree and Diploma). Eligibility: Students admitted in AICTE approved institutions & courses in : 1st year of Degree/ Diploma level course OR 2nd year of Degree/ Diploma level course through lateral entry. - Specially-abled student, having disability of not less than 40%. - Total income of the family < Rs. 8 lakh per annum. Facilities Offered @  Mangalore Marine College and Technology, Mangalore

The Institute provides state-of-the-art facilities to the students and has the aim of developing the facilities to the International standards. Our MMCT campus, through its various Clubs, promotes student involvement in issues beyond narrow academic pursuits. We offer NCC, NSS and other community-based initiatives. The Library is well equipped with modern facilities & resources in the form of CD-ROM. Online databases, audio video cassettes, books, journals etc. Our spacious library, the seat of knowledge, entertains and evokes enthusiasm among the students with an interesting collection of books a variety of journals are also within reach to assimilate and enhance awareness. We have full-fledged separate computer labs as per the university syllabus. Apart from those centres, we have additional Labs for the internet, CAD/CAM.

The computer workstations have about 100 systems. Servers have been arranged so that Internet connection is distributed to all workstations.
Compulsory morning PT, Parade Training by Naval Instructor, regular Swimming Practice & Boating Practice by experts. Regular English proficiency, communication skill, personality development, yoga programmes are arranged at the beginning of the course curriculum Active participation of students in various exhibitions, seminars conducted by various educational institutes and our students bagged many prizes. All facilities including computer terminals, LCD projectors, are provided to conference and seminar halls. Classrooms are equipped with audio visual facility and LCD projectors. The classrooms are equipped with Wi-Fi for unlimited internet access to students and staff.

The College is easily accessible from Mangalore city. In addition, the college owns a fleet of buses and these buses operate along all the routes in and around Mangalore, Our booming transport facilities ensure that our students and staff are able to reach the college in time with utmost ease.
