Mar Ephraem College of Engineering & Technology - MECET is a Private, Christian Minority, Self Financing, Co-Education Institution. It was the First Bishop of Marthandam who was directly instrumental is establishing the Mar Ephraem College of Engineering and Technology in the year 2009 at Elavuvilai, Marthandam. The College is under the management of The Diocese of Martha Dam Trust The aim of Mar Ephraem College of Engineering and Technology has always been to provide a quality education that keeps abreast of emerging technologies and progress. Most Rev. Dr. Vincent Mar Paulos, Bishop, Diocese of Marthandam is the Manager, Chairman of the Governing Board of the College. Rt. Rev. Msgr, Jose Bright , Vicar General, Diocese of Marthandam is the Trustee and Rev. Fr. Satheesh Kumar, Secretary and Correspondent of the Diocese of Marthandam is the Secretary of the Governing Board of the College.

MECET is located at Malankara Hills, Elavuvillai, Kanyakumari Elavuvilai, Kanyakumari, Marthandam on a sprawling 12 Acres campus in a very serene and green surroundings, The area is away from noise and pollution prone surroundings and is extremely peaceful, perfect for learning. Kuzhithurai Railway Station is 5 Kms from the College and Thiruvananthapuram Airport is 51 Kms away.

MECET is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has accredited the College with an "A" Grade. The National Board of Accreditation has accredited the Academic Courses of the College. Mar Ephraem Library is housed in a spacious two-storeyed building covering 1,004 Sq.M. It features a Reference Section, Reading Room, Periodical Section, Back Volume Section, Stack Area, and a modern E-Library. A dedicated Information Desk (Circulation Counter) is located on the ground floor.Sports is given equal weightage as academics. “One man cannot make a team”. We provide an invaluable opportunity for our students to interact, keep fit, pursue excellence and work in teams. Our sports facilities are extensive and well-equipped, catering to a wide range of sports. It aims to develop students' physical competence and knowledge of movement and safety, and their ability to use these to perform in a wide range of activities associated with the development of an active and healthy lifestyle.

Hostel

• Application for admission to the hostel shall be made in the prescribed form available in the Hostel office.
  
• Hostel Fee shall be paid to the warden office immediately after the admission to the course is done.
  
• The allotment of rooms to the applicants will be made by the Warden.
  
• Students with chronic medical problems will not be admitted to the Hostel to enable the student to have proper medical care by parents.
  
• Chair, Table, Almirah, Cot will be made available to each student and they are responsible for the above furniture and should return the respective furniture without any damage. Any Damage to the furniture will be charged from respective student with fine.
  

Transport

A full fledged Transport department functions in the college with buses to provide transport facility to students and staff from various places of Kanyakumari and Thiruvananthapuram district. This service is offered ensuring a hassle-free and safe transportation.New bus routes are introduced immediately on receipt of request to the transport coordinator.
