SLS MAVMM Ayira Vaisyar College was founded in the year 1991. This college is located at kallampatti village near Alagar Kovil around 20 km away from Madurai. The college is functioning under the efficient management of Madurai Ayira Vaisyar Manjaputhar Mahajana Saba located at 17, keela Marat Street, Madurai since 13.10. 1997, This Saba dedicated itself to the field of Higher Education and towards the development of Education. SLS MAVMM Ayira Vaisyar College was started as a self finance college through the G. O MS. 469/Edn. dated 1991 by the government of Tamil Nadu. It was affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University .This is a Co-Educational College.

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Biochemistry is a full-time three-year undergraduate course offered by the Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai.
Eligibility Criteria
A person, who has passed Higher Secondary/Intermediate (10+2) with science stream or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto, shall be eligible for the course.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:  The college offers scholarship for brillinat students , they offer on various categories such as based on their 12 th marks , their cut off marks etc. They obtain scholarship upto 10000 rupees.
