MEASI Academy of Architecture Chennai is a leading minority educational institution in the field of Architecture, was established in 1999 by the Muslim Educational Association of Southern India (MEASI) Trust. The institute was headed by Prof. Dr. N. Altaf Ahmed,  B. Arch., F.I.I.A., M.R.S.H., F.A.E.P., Founder-Director of MEASI Academy of Architecture, assisted by his team of highly qualified and experienced faculty from across India and abroad.

MEASI Academy of Architecture is located in a beautiful 2 acre campus at Royapettah in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The institute is conveniently located in the heart of the city and can be easily reached by public and private transport.  It is centered at a distance of 4 km from Chennai Central Railway Station, 12 Km from the Koyambedu bus stand and 16.5 km from Chennai Airport.

The MEASI Academy of Architecture has the approval of the Council of Architecture (CoA), New Delhi, and is affiliated with Anna University, Chennai.

The courses offered by MEASI Academy of Architecture include B.Arch, M.Arch (Gen) and M.Arch (Real Estate Development).  Aspiring candidates must ensure to satisfy the eligibility criteria before applying to the institute.  MEASI Academy of Architecture accepts admission through NATA or any other recognized aptitude test in architecture and the selection for PG courses is merit-based in the qualifying examinations.

MEASI Academy of Architecture facilities include spacious Classrooms, Computer Labs, Survey Lab, Central Library, Auditorium, Cafeteria, Hostels, Medical aid, Counseling, Mess and Well equipped studios.  In addition the academy has its Alumni’s support to guide and support students regarding career opportunities.  The Academy is known for hiring highly qualified and well-experienced faculty.  The institute faculty had two categories: Teaching faculty and non - teaching faculty. The teaching faculty includes a head, dean, professors, and associate professors.  The non-teaching faculty is for office administration, library, computers & networking.

ADMISSION PROCESS:

MEASI Academy of Architecture, Chennai was established in 1999 by the association of MEASI. The Academy has also established a reputation for the outstanding quality of education. The Academy has been accredited with the ISO 9001-2000 Certification by Bureau Veritas India Pvt. Ltd. MEASI Academy of Architecture offers education in under-graduate Architecture (B.Arch.) program as well as post-graduation through M.Arch. which are affiliated to Anna University.

• Candidates interested in the program will have apply directly at the Institute or apply separately for counselling at Anna University for B.Arch.
• Minimum eligibility to apply for B.Arch. is 10+2 or equivalent with at least 60% marks in aggregate.
• Candidates having three-year diploma from a Govt. Recognized Institute are also eligible to apply for the B.Arch. program.
• Applications to B.Arch. must have a valid score in NATA  Entrance Exam.
• While for the M.Arch. program, candidate must hold B.Arch. or B.E. degree from a recognized university.
• Admission to M.Arch. course will be merit based on qualifying exam.

MEASI Academy of Architecture B.Arch. Admission

Admission to five-year full-time B.Arch. program is offered by MEASI Academy of Architecture, Chennai through NATA Entrance Exam 2021 scores followed by the Counselling conducted by Anna University. The minimum eligibility criteria for taking admission in this course is 10+2 or equivalent examination with at least 60% marks in aggregate. Candidates who have passed three-year diploma examination approved by AICTE or central/state government are also eligible to apply for the course.

MEASI Academy of Architecture M.Arch. Admission

The Institute offers admission to two-year regular M.Arch. program. The minimum eligibility criteria for taking admission in this course is to have B.Arch. or B.E. (Civil) degree from a recognized university. Eligible candidates will be selected based on the merit in the qualifying examination.

MEASI Academy of Architecture Application Process

The application process for admission to B.Arch. and M.Arch. courses at MEASI Academy of Architecture, Chennai is offline. However, candidates seeking admission in B.Arch. must register for NATA entrance exam through the respective official website. Offline application process is as follows:

• Visit the campus of the Academy to avail the admission form.
• Duly fill in the required details in the form and affix the recent photographs as well as the other relevant documents.
• Make the online payment of application fee.
• Applicants need to submit the filled-up form at the main campus of the academy.
• Students need to visit at the institute on the dates decided by the institute along with the admission fee.
• Upon submission of the application form, the merit list will be displayed on the notice board and the students will be intimated to visit the college campus along with the necessary documents (Original) for verification

Infrastructure

The strategic and prime location of the campus in the heart of the city at Royapettah offers a great advantage to the academy which is a standalone institution. The academy has state of the art infrastructure with spacious and well lit studios with adequate storage facilities, lecture rooms and well-equipped smart class with video conferencing facilities. The computer labs with 120 terminals with licensed softwares, an expansive library with a good collection of latest books, journals and magazines, material museum, survey and climatology labs form part of the the infrastructure. A well designed air conditioned auditorium with a seating capacity of 435 persons has been an envious addition to the Academy. Hoostel facilities for the boys have been made available within the campus while sports and training grounds are also accommodated within a large playfield in the campus.

LIBRARY

Our institution believes a learning environment is incomplete without a thoughtfully designed and well maintained library. Our students enjoy being here as it is a stimulating environment for isolated study surrounded by rich collection of books. Our library hosts a wide range of books for all architects and architects to be. All our faculties actively make use of this library and motivate students to inculcate the habit of referring to books. The books are neatly catalogued, organized in open book shelves that invite students to take, glance, read, refer and borrow. The library is on two levels with ample light that blissfully enters the space to metaphorically say “Enlighten”. The collection includes multiple copies of all subject books prescribed for the course by the university, books on architectural standards, handbooks, coffee table books, with active subscription for innumerable regional, national and international journals, magazines apart from a diligently maintained archive section. Our new Air conditioned Library consists of 7079 volumes of books along with 22 National and 18 International Magazines & Journals. The library is also equipped with Auto Lib software for easy tracking of books and book lending process.

Studio

Each class is allotted an exclusive studio where core subjects like Architectural Design & Drawing, Building, Construction and Building Services are taught. The studio being the key learning environment is spacious, airy and well-lit. The studios also present an ideal environment to develop sills in drafting and presenting architectural ideas and details. All the studios are well equipped in the furniture to facilitate both manual drafting and digital learning with large tables, drafting boards, individual storage space for every students and power sockets to plug in laptops.

Lecture Hall

Theory subjects are taught in lecture halls spread across the various floors in Measi Academy of Architecture.. All lecture rooms are well ventilated and are equipped with LCD projectors and white boards for conducting both instruction oriented lectures and interactive sessions to groom the future. It is here that our students spend most of their timing learning to ideate architectural concepts through discussions and debates.

Climatology Lab

Understanding climate is an important aspect in building design. Our climatology lab provides students opportunity to measure and use climate to their advantage in building design. We have equipment’s such as Max and Min Thermometer, Anemometer-2nos, Wind Vane, Rain Gauge, Barometer, Solarimeter, Luxmeter, Multistem Thermometer, Sound level meter.
