The Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research (MAHER)is a renowned Deemed to be University incorporating a consortium of institutions in Chennai and Kanchipuram. MAHER was approved as the Deemed to be University by the University Grants Commission as per Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 Vide Govt. Notification No.f.9-5/2002-U.3 on 31.03.2004.

Under the aegis of MAHER, the Meenakshi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute (MMCHRI) at Kanchipuram, Meenakshi Ammal Dental College (MADC) at Maduravoyil, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences (FAHS) at Kanchipuram, Arulmigu Meenakshi College of Nursing (AMCON) at Kanchipuram and Meenakshi College of Nursing (MCON) at Managdu are providing exceptional education in the field of healthcare. In addition to these individual campuses we also have the Faculty of Humanities and Sciences, Faculty of Physiotherapy, Faculty of Occupational Therapy, and Faculty of Yoga Sciences and Therapy in the main campus at K.K.Nagar, Chennai.

MAHER UG Admission

The university provides a bunch of Undergraduate (UG) programmes like, Bachelor of Banking Management (BBM), Bachelor of Arts (B.A), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com), Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) and Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA).

The university offers BBM, BBA and BCA with one specialization each. The B.A candidates can choose from eight different specializations. Candidates of B.Com can have specializations in three different subjects. The university provides B.Sc programme with 10 different specializations. All of the UG courses take 3 years to be completed.

Selection of the candidate to the undergraduate (UG) courses will be done on the basis of their performance in the entrance examination, conducted by the university.

MAHER UG Medical Admission

Other than MBBS and BDS, the college offers a few more courses related to the field of medical science at undergraduate level. It offers B.Sc. in Nursing, BPT in Physiotherapy and B.Sc. in Health Science with six different specializations.

Candidates seeking admission in UG Medical programme need to appear in a Common Entrance Test (CET) exam conducted by MAHER university. The selection will be made according the score obtained by the candidates.

1. Candidates who have secured 90% or more marks in the qualifying examination, irrespective of the board (for students belonging to communities other than SC/ST).

2. SC/ST students who have secured 60% or more marks in the qualifying examination, irrespective of the board

3. Children of a single parent with an income less than Rs.1, 00,000/- per year.

4. Children of ex-servicemen – personnel who served in Defense Forces in any cadre.

5. Children of MAHER employees.

6. Siblings of MAHER alumnus.

7. Candidates who are to become the first graduate in the family.

8. Physically challenged candidates.

Meenakshi Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Children of a single parent with an income less than Rs. 1, 00,000/- per year.

2. Children of ex-servicemen – personnel who served in Defence Forces in any cadre.

3. SC/ST students who have 60% or more marks in the qualifying examination irrespective of Board.

4. Candidates who are to become the first graduate in the family.

5. Students who won in Intercollegiate/State/Regional/National/International level Co- Curricular / extracurricular events (scientific / sports / culturals / literary / Fine arts events) in the previous academic year.

6. Students who have scored an aggregate of 60% and above in the previous academic year/semester Examinations.
