Meenakshi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute (MMCHRI),a constituent college of Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research  (MAHER), is a tertiary care teaching hospital located in Kanchipuram district of Tamil Nadu.  Mr. A.N. Radhakrishnan, M.A., D.Com., is the Managing Trustee of Meenakshi Ammal Trust and the Honorable Chancellor of Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research and has headed all the educational activities taken up by the Trust, from setting up schools in rural areas to starting highly technical and advanced colleges, with the aim of making education accessible and affordable to all.

Since its inception in 2003 by late Thirumathi Meenakshi Ammal, a Philanthropist, Meenakshi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute is dedicated to training doctors in various branches of medicine as experts in Clinical Skills and Knowledge, and has been committed to excellence in Medical Education, Research, Patient care and Community service thereby applying it for Welfare of the community.

MMCHRI College and Hospital is housed in a sprawling 39 acres of land in the temple city of Kancheepuram .  It is ideally located in salubrious surroundings  in Raasi Nagar, Karrapettai Post, Enathur, Meenakshi Nagar,  Karrapettai Post, Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu.

Under the leadership of late Chancellor, Mr. A.N Radhakrishnan, Meenakshi Medical College continues to move into the twenty first century in leaps and bounds.   MMCHRI, a Multi-campus, Multi-disciplinary Analysis University that has emerged as a pioneer in providing Medical and Health care programs through Internationalization and Innovation in Academic and Research Studies, and offers a full spectrum of UG and PG specialty programs in various disciplies, including MBBS, MD (14 disciplines), MS (5 disciplines), and Super specialty courses M.Ch/DM (4 disciplines) and M.Sc. (3 courses). The sanctioned annual intake to the M.B.B.S. programme is 250 students per year.

Separate rural and urban health training centers have also been established.  At present the attached hospital has 1,200 teaching beds with state-of-the-art Operation Theaters. Admission Procedure

The admission process for Meenakshi Medical College & Research Institute (MMCH&RI) is primarily based on merit, determined by the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) score, followed by counseling conducted by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC)

Admission Process

• Take NEET‑UG and receive your score & rank.

• Register on MCC’s Deemed University counselling portal for MBBS seats in deemed category colleges like MAHER/MMCHRI .

• Choice filling and locking: list MMCHRI and submit preferences.

• Seat allotment is based on NEET rank, quotas, and available seats.

• If allotted, report to college within the given timeline with required documents and fee

Eligiblity

• Must qualify NEET‑UG conducted by NTA (India).

• Age requirement: Minimum 17 years old on or before 31 December of the year of admission (i.e. born on or before 31.12.2007 for the current cycle) .

• Educational qualification:

  • 10+2 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotech, and English.

  • Minimum 50% aggregate in PCB for general category; 40% for SC/ST/OBC (45% for PwBD) 

  • Candidates with international qualifications recognized by AIU also eligible, with similar subject criteria

Placement

Meenakshi Medical College does not offer traditional placement like engineering or management colleges. Instead, medical graduates are required to complete a one year internship after the MBBS course, which is arranged within the college hospital. This internship provides hands on training in all major departments. After graduation, students can choose to work in hospitals, clinics, or prepare for postgraduate entrance exams such as NEET PG or exams for government medical jobs.
