Meenakshi Ammal Dental College & Hospital are one of the reputed Pvt. Dental Colleges located in Maduravoyal, Tamil Nadu established in the year 1990-91 under the aegis of Meenakshi Ammal Trust.  It is a constituent college of MAHER – Meenakshi Ammal Academy of Higher Studies & Research (Deemed to be University).   The Trust which was coined in the year 1983 by Mrs.D.Meenakshi Ammal, a well-known philanthropist, functions to serve the needy communities in our society.  The college works with a noble cause for providing quality education to deserving students. There are multiple institutes initiated by the Trust in the fields of Medicine, Engineering, Paramedical institutes, Hospitals, Dental and more.

MADCH is one of the few Dental Colleges to be located within the city limits on Alapakkam Main Rd, Janaki Nagar, Maduravoyal, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.  The dental college spreads over a sprawling 5.12 acres with a total built up area of 4,12,694 sq.feet encompassing the College and Hospital Buildings.

Meenakshi Ammal Dental College and Hospital is recognized by the Dental Council of India and is well known for its reputation. It has received several accreditations from both Government and Non-Government agencies with non-biased reviews. The journey of MADCH started way back in the year 1990, when it was affiliated to Tamil Nadu Dr.MGR Medical University.  Since then, this institution has grown leaps and bounds to become one of India’s finest dental colleges.  Later in 2004, it was declared as a constituent college of MAHER (Deemed to be University) by the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India, under section 3 of the UGC act of 1956.  The major accreditations include NAAC, NIRF and ISO.  The college has secured 24th rank among the dental colleges during the year 2021.  For the first time, MADCH was awarded an ‘A’ grade by NAAC in 2006.  Since then, the institute has been striving to raise the standard of dental education on par with global standards and to perform high-quality dental research that will benefit the public.

MADCH offers BDS and MDS Degree programs in the UG, PG levels.  It also offers UG Diploma programs.  The criteria for admission to the BDS program is NEET entrance exam and for MDS it is NEET MDS.  For students opting for UG Diploma courses the eligibility is CBSE 12^th ISC+1.

Admission Procedure & Eligibility Criteria
Admission of students of dental is made strictly on merit based on an All India Examination (NEET) as prescribed by the MCI and UGC Regulations and in consistence with the National policy in this behalf from time to time.

Selection will be made after counseling as per the merit list.

Candidates shall meet the following eligibility criteria prescribed by the Dental Council of India.

Have passed the qualifying exam as under
Higher secondary examination or the Indian School Leaving certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 higher secondary examination after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of study comprising of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics or any other elective subjects with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council for Educational Research and Training after the introduction of the 10+2+3 years educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education.

The intermediate examination in science of an Indian University/ Board/ or other recognized examining body with Physics, Chemistry and Biology which shall include a practical test in these subjects and also English as a compulsory subject.
Selection of Students
There shall be a single eligibility-cum-entrance examination namely “National Eligibility-cumEntrance Test (NEET) for admission to BDS course” in each academic year.
“In order to be eligible for admission to BDS Course for a particular academic year, it shall be necessary for a candidate to obtain a minimum of marks at 50th percentile in NEET for the said academic year.

The highest package received is 6 LPA, and the lowest package is around Rs. 80,000 per annum. Many students have joined private clinics and also government hospitals. Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is really good

 Facilities
Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research, Chennai has three constituent campus for higher education and research in medical and dental programmes two of which are Meenakshi Ammal Dental College and Hospital (MADCH), and Meenakshi Medical College, Hospital and Research Institute (MMCHRI), Maduravoyal and Kanchipuram respectively. MAHER Chennai infrastructure has a campus in area of over 5 acres that bounds the college and hospital buildings, staff quarters, boys and girls hostel, auditorium, indoor games and outdoor sports facilities, a canteen, gymnasium, and parking facilities for patients, staff & students, and many more.

MAHER Chennai campus at Kanchipuram has an area of over 39 acres that consists of all the buildings, well-equipped departments, laboratories, classrooms, staff and nurse quarters and high quality technology facilities. The institute is supported by qualified and experienced staff, fully equipped laboratories, library and latest teaching facilities. Apart from all these facilities the institution also has an auditorium, separate boys and girls hostel, indoor and outdoor sports facilities, and many more as well.



Boys Hostel
MAHER Chennai provides a well-furnished hostel for boys and the hostel is located inside the college campus for easy access to college and hospital facilities with 24/7 CCTV surveillance, safety and security facilities for the students. Hostel has an inhouse mess to take care of the needs of students and staff members by providing them breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and dinner. The mess area is huge and clean with a dining area for students and faculty.


Girls Hostel
MAHER Chennai offers well-stocked hostels for girls as well, which are situated inside the institute campus making college and hospital facilities easily accessible. MAHER Chennai only has one hostel for boys but it has four hostels for girls and a quarters for PG students. Girls hostels also get the same safety, security and mess facilities as boys hostels.


Library
The library is built on the first floor of the admin block with an area of 8000 sq.ft. A total of 10,814 books are present in the library and the institute has subscriptions of 49 international journals and 35 national journals, and back volumes of 77 journals. The library is widely known as “Knowledge Research Centre'' and it is an independent three-storeyed building with an area of 1393 sq.mts. The library is proficiently structured, Air conditioned, with fire alarms. It has 250 seats in the main reading hall, a room for faculties with 50 seats, a room for PG students with about 30 seats, all on ground floor. Apart from these 330 seats, there are 250 seats on the first floor for the users to read their own books and there are faculty rooms, E-Library arena, and scanning & photocopying facilities available as well.


Sports
MAHER Chennai has huge multi functional sports grounds for activities like cricket, football. The institute also has separate courts for basketball, volleyball and throwball and sports facilities for track and field athletics are present in the campus for organising competitions and sports events. Badminton, table tennis, carrom, chess, and many other indoor games facilities are available as well. There are physical trainers and supervisors to provide guidance to the students and also for yoga.

Auditorium
The auditorium can be located on the second floor of the administrative block houses. It is proficiently structured with latest audio visual equipment, air conditioning, theatre with Dolby stereo surround system. The auditorium has a seating capacity of 2,400 viewers and it is built on an area of 41,500 square feets. It is a multipurpose auditorium and many events, seminars and functions are organised at the auditorium


Medical/Hospital
MAHER Chennai is sharing campus with its hospital and the hospital facilities are available to students as well. MADCH, Maduravoyal MAHER campus also has a well equipped dental clinic which is utilised to do dental and screening. It also has a dental van with 2 well equipped dental chairs to allow the provision of comprehensive patient care in case of outreach programmes.

Classrooms
MAHER Chennai has smart classrooms that are used to conduct seminars, lectures, project reviews and other curricular activities.

Laboratories
The institute has a computer lab where students of B.Com, B.B.A., B.C.A. are allowed to come with a lab coat. The computer lab provides the tools and technologies to produce websites, edit papers, complete class assignments etc. Students are offered a variety of graphics and website creation software in the computer lab.
