Melmaruvathur Adhiparasakthi Institute of Medical Sciences and Research which is managed by The Adhiparasakthi Charitable Medical, Educational and Cultural Trust, Melmaruvathur was established in the year 2008.  The Hospital attached to the College, run by a non-profitable Trust, concentrating on speedy recovery rather than charges,  is being run from the year 1986, providing health care services to the surrounding villages for more than 37 years. People belonging to the economically backward socio economic group of the nearby 750 villages including agricultural labourers are getting various health care services from this Hospital.

The Medical Institute is situated in 53 acres of land surrounded by pure nature near National Highway (NH-45), about 92 km from Chennai and 70 km before Pondicherry. The College and Hospital is located on the Melmaruvathur Adhiparasakthi Institute Of Medical Science Road, Melmaruvathur, Kancheepuram District, Tamilnadu.  Since the Hospital is located midway between Chennai and Pondicherry, various nearby towns are benefitted.  Here the Patients receive treatment with a view of the Lake, Grove, Farm and Singing of birds.

MAPIMS is affiliated to Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai and all the academic activities are carried out as per the curriculum issued by NMC and the University. The Institute is approved by National Medical Commission (NMC) and Medical Assessment & Rating Board (MARB)

The MAPIMS offers a number of courses related to Medical Care and Allied Health Services.  The courses offered include MBBS (150 seats) and PG programs like MD/MS.  Apart from this the College also offers BSc (Allied Health Sciences) and BDS.
