Misrimal Navajee Munoth Jain Engineering College, a prestigious and popular engineering college located within the Chennai city limits, was established in 1994 by Tamil Nadu Educational and Medical (TEAM) Foundation (1972) with the mission of delivering high-quality technical and medical education in Tamil Nadu.  Sri. Lalchand Munoth, Chairman of the Foundation came forward with a donation of Rs.25 lakhs in 1994 and made it possible to realize the dream of late. Dr. C. L. Metha, Secretary of the Foundation and himself to establish a Technical college in Chennai.  The college was named after the Chairman’s father Late Sri. Misrimal Navajee.

Primarily aimed at providing higher education to Jain students, the college welcomes students from all backgrounds, irrespective of caste or religion.  A core principle of the institution is its commitment to "No donation and no capitation," ensuring that education remains accessible to all. The college has successfully completed two decades of service to the society at large & the Jain community in particular.  Through this framework, the college strives to create an inclusive and equitable learning environment that empowers students to achieve their academic and professional goals.

Misrimal Navajee Munoth Jain Engineering College campus is located along the National IT Highway on the Old Mahabalipuram Road in a sprawling campus measuring 16.86 acres of land.  The college address is Guru Marudhar Kesari Building, Subramanya Nagar St Rd, Thorapakkam, Jyothi Nagar, Chennai, Thoraipakkam, Tamil Nadu.

Owned and managed by TEAM, MNMJEC is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.  It is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai.  Five of its UG programs are accredited by NBA, New Delhi.

Misrimal Navajee Munoth Jain Engineering College offers a wide range of full-time degree courses in the fields of Engineering, IT & Software, and Business & Management Studies including undergraduate programs like B.E (in 5 Disciplines), B.Tech (in 3 Disciplines), as well as postgraduate options such as M.E (in 2 Disciplines), and MBA. It also offers Ph.D programs in a number of disciplines. Admissions to the UG program is based on TNEA counselling conducted by Anna University, every year.

Lateral entry admissions to MNMJEC are through counselling of students who have acquired more than 80% of marks in their academics.

For admission to the MBA and ME program, candidates are required to appear for TANCET conducted by Anna University in the month of March

Candidates with valid GATE and CAT scores can also apply for admission to ME and MBA programs, respectively.

The Placement and Training Cell is headed by Mr. M.K.T. Nivas Kumaar, M.Tech, B.Tech. The department interacts with the top notch companies for accreditation and placement drive. It has well-equipped conference rooms and separate well-furnished rooms for interviews and counseling. The department is designed to function with a high degree of professionalism.

The Placement and Training Division provides maximum quality placement opportunities to its students. One of the key strengths of placement training at MNMJEC is that it has able and effective in-house training in Soft Skills and General Aptitude. The ATM of the ICICI and Indian Bank are placed in-house which provide round the clock banking services in the D.B. Jain College Campus. This facility can be availed by the students and staff of the college. On enrollment, every student can open an account with bank and can make full use of banking services, Internet Banking and A.T.M. facilities.

An on campus Banking facility is provided by Indian Bank. The branch is listed as Indian Bank, D.B. Jain Branch. It is fully computerized and air conditioned. It caters to the need of students and staff. The ATM facility boon to the faculty and hostilities.The institute has a dispensary on campus to meet the first aid and routine medical requirements of the students free of cost. In the dispensary, the consultation is also provided to the members of faculty and staff of the institute. A senior medical officer along with other supporting staff – pharmacist, nursing orderly and ward boy are there to attend the students, faculty and staff.

One qualified Medical Officer (on part time basis) & a Nurse have been appointed in our college. The Nurse is available on all working days. Staff & students can avail the facility if they are found to be sick. In addition to this Apollo Shine Trust has installed a Medical Centre with qualified medical professional in the interest of the students and all employees of the college.
