The Mohamed Sathak College of Arts and Science (MSCAS) was established in 1991, promoted by Mohamed Sathak Trust, a public, charitable, and educational body established in 1973, by the philanthropic Mohamed Sathak family of Kilakarai, Ramanathapuram-District with the noble aim of promoting the cause of Higher Education..
there are 17 U.G courses (Arts, Sciences, Commerce and Business Administration) and 11 P.G courses and 3 Diploma/PG Diploma programmes offered to 4541 students. Three departments i.e. Biochemistry, Microbiology and Biotechnology are offering M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes. At present, the strength of teaching staff is 198 out of 50 hold doctoral degree. There are 92 non-teaching and supporting staff.
The open book in the middle stands for faith in the holy book of Quran that guides the scholar aright and shows him/her the right road to taken or trodden. The open book also stands for Education and wisdom. The effulgent flame of the glowing torch at the top of the crest represents the right knowledge acquired through education coupled with faith. The Scholar uses it to destroy or dispel the detestable darkness of ignorance in him/her and also in others who come into contact with him/her. It is like the guiding pole star for the scholars. In fine, the crest of the college stands for true learning and selfless service.

The college is to serve the social needs and to uplift the living standards of the rural youths by imparting higher education adhering not only to national but also international standards of education and fostering an enduring sense of discipline and single minded dedication to work.

By promoting the College into an Institution of Excellence, it aims to serve the rural youth by providing them with easy access to higher education and job opportunities. The college strives towards integrated personality growth of rural student in particular and students at large in which special attention is given to their intellectual, moral and cultural development. It inculcates discipline, higher level of culture and time values of life among the youth.

Placements: Almost 75% of the stu have been placed in our cource. The highest pack is 2.5lap and the lowest is 1.5lap is off. Top recruiting companies are HCL, Accenture, wipro and ect 40% of the students got internship in account based companies As an accountant in many companies.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions: They will provide scholarship for SC students and as the college is a Muslim college, the Muslim students whose parent's annual income lies below 1L will be provided scholarship.

Gents Hostel
Separate hostel facilities are provided by the management for both boys and girls. Boys hostel is located within the campus itself. The capacity of the hostel is 450. Its functions including the discipline of the inmates are managed by a team of staff members along with higher officials. Vegetarian and Non-vegetarian food will be served. Shuttle badminton courts are located inside the hostel. A separate gym is provided for the benefit of the students.

Sahar and If tar arrangements are also made for the inmates during the month of Ramzan to observe fasting. Students from various parts of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Arunachala Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and other parts of India and countries like Sudan, Somalia, Thipudhi, Nepal and Sri Lanka are staying in the hostel. Medical care during emergencies is also provided to the students. Generator facility is also available to meet the power cuts and shutdown.

Ladies Hostel
The ladies hostel for girls is located outside the college in sholinganallur separately with all facilities. Free Transport arrangement is provided for pick up and drop from the hostel to college. Library with religious and other important books is available for the benefit of the inmates. Medical care during emergencies is also provided for all the inmates. Generator facility is also available to meet the power cuts and shutdown.

Mosque
A beautiful mosque is located at the college premises for making prayer. 5 times prayer is conducted along with Jumma prayer on Friday in the mosque. If tar arrangements are also provided in the mosque to break the fasting during Ramzan month.

For girl students and lady staff separate prayer hall facility is provided in the college itself for daily prayers.

Bank
Indian Overseas Bank and its ATM is located in the college premises for the benefit of students and staff. The students can remit their college and other fees in the bank easily and use the ATM facility to draw the money easily without wasting their valuable time unnecessarily in standing long queues.

Auditorium
An auditorium with a capacity of 600 persons is located near the entrance of the main building o the college. The facilities such as LCD Projector for presentations, elaborate Audio arrangements are provided for the conduct of functions such as Seminar & Symposia efficiently.

Transport
College buses are plying from the various parts of city to come to the college. Students and staff can avail this facility by registering themselves in the office.

MTC bus passes, Railway concessions, Air Concessions are also provided to all the students to come and return to their home conveniently. For further details the students may contact the office.

Islamic studies
With a view to inculcate high values of morality, humanism, harmony and amity in the students, the college offers Deeniyath and Moral instructions. Sense of morality and ethics makes one, healthy in mind and body. It also helps him to analyze good and bad in right earnest and steers him towards righteousness and honesty. The classes are conducted and all the students are expected to benefit from them.

General lectures on selected topics shall be arranged once in a month. Popular speakers shall address the students in the meetings and shall clarify doubts in Question-Answer session after the lecture.

At the end of the academic year, examination shall be held. Prizes shall be distributed to the toppers in the examination.

Canteen
Canteen is located adjacent to the main building of the college. A variety of South Indian food and snack items are provided to the students and staff of the college with highest quality. Canteen staff take extra care to provide the students and staff with nutritious and hygienic food in the canteen.
