Mohamed Sathak Engineering College (Autonomous) MSEC was started by the Charitable Mohamed Sathak Trust formed by Five brothers and Four brother-in-laws in the loving memory of their father Janab. Mohamed Sathak Thampy, who was the Jameen of Mayakulam and the surrounding region and later on as the President of the Kilakarai Panchayat Union for several times. The aim of the Trust was to promote Technical Education and train the students to cope with the technological needs of the day. Mohamed Sathak Engineering College (MSEC) was started in the year 1984 as the very first Self Financed, Muslim Minority, Co-Educational Engineering College in the State of Tamil Nadu (G.O. Ms.No.1088, Education dated 21.08.1984). Alhaj. S.M. Mohamed Yousuf is the Chairman of the College Management.

Mohamed Sathak Engineering College is located on a very beautiful and green 107 Acres Campus with an environment ideal for higher education, away from pollution and noise at, Sathak Nagar, SH-49, East Coast Road, Kilakarai, Ramanathapuram District, Tamil Nadu.
