Mumbai Veterinary College, established in 1886, is one of the oldest veterinary institutions in Asia. It was founded under the Bombay Veterinary College Act and began functioning under the Government of Bombay. The college initially offered a diploma in veterinary science and later expanded to degree-level education. It played a key role in the development of veterinary education in India and is now a constituent college of the Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University MAFSU Nagpur.
