Muslim Arts College started functioning at Madhavalayam in the year 1982. It was a long felt need of the Muslim Educational Society of Kanyakumari District to have a college giving equal oppurtunity and access to the Muslim minority. The college was affliated to Madurai Kamaraj University and approved by the Government of Tamilnadu.

Later it was shifted to Jalal building, Thiruvithancode, and the college witnessed a steady growth. With the Establishment of Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli the college got affiliated to the new University. The college has by now achieved excellence in higher education with more than 2000 students and 180 faculty members and 75 members of non teaching staff. A very significant breakthrough in the history of the college was the introduction of the new courses in 2000-2001.

Now the college has more than thirty four (UG & PG) courses and eight Research Departments.

Muslim Arts College Admission

Admission of the students depends on the merit lists and, The College also has Reservation Criteria for General category Students- 50%, OBC- 27%, SC- 15%, ST- 8% and to get admissions in the College, the students must have to pass 10+2 or BSc from their respective fields.

LIBRARY

Our college Library is now fully computerised. About 21926 books of different disciplines are available in the Library.

This year new collections of books, national & international journals, magazines have been added to our library and we have added 1000 books to the stock. Moreover, all departments have their own Department Library.

"Today a Reader, Tomorrow a Leader." So we provide good opportunities to the students to grow to their fullest potential by developing the reading habit.

CANTEEN

Canteen is not just the place where we go to eat. It is an open arena for discussion, cracking jokes with loads of fun with cutlets, juices, tea, coffee etc in between as gap fillers. We have good canteen facility that provides hygienic and healthy food for the students. The canteen is well ventilated with sufficient lighting facility in an open-air environment. The eatables provided in the canteen are prepared under hygienic conditions and serves as a treat for the taste buds of our students.

HOSTEL

Our Hostel facilities provide a homely atmosphere for the students inside our campus. A good array of comfortability, secured with spacious rooms, 24 hour power supply, hygienic water and healthy foods with reasonably priced accommodation are some of the basic features of our hostel.

TRANSPORTATION

Our college has a fleet of 25 buses and these buses are operated along routes near and around Kanyakumari district and Thiruvananthapuram district in the Indian state of Kerala. Places such as Balaramapuram, Neyyattinkara, Poovar, Vellarada, Karakonam, etc.

Our transport facilities make sure that our students and staff will able to reach the college in time.

SPORTS

Physical Education is the vital part of the total educational system. Sports and games develop the vigorous spirit of the students and lay a base for the students’ future. In addition to that, it helps us to be active both physically and mentally. Therefore our college gives distinctive place to sports and games. We have many worldwide games like Athletics, Badminton, Carrom, Chess, Cricket, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volley Ball, and Table Tennis. Our college has efficient and energetic physical directors, Mr.P. Jayasekhar, and Mrs. M. Sindhuja. Our college sports team participated in inter-collegiate tournaments in Chess, Cricket, Shuttle and Badminton.
