Maharaj Vijayaram Gajapathi Raj College of Engineering (MVGRCE) is an autonomous private engineering institute located in Vizianagram, Andhra Pradesh. The institute was established in the year 1997 by Maharajah Alak Narayan Society of Arts and Science (MANSAS). MVGRCE offers various undergraduate and postgraduate programme in engineering and management. Various courses offered by includes B.Tech, M.tech, MBA. MVGRCE has been recognised by University Grant Commission (UGC). It is permanently affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada (JNTU- Kakinada) and has been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

As per guidelines of the State Government, in all B.Tech. admissions, 70% is the Convener quota and 30% is the Management Quota.

Convenor Quota

B.Tech Admissions (Regular) - Rank in EAMCET or State Level Entrance Test conducted by Government of Andhra Pradesh.

B.Tech Admissions (Lateral Entry) - Rank in ECET or State Level Entrance Test (Direct admission to Second year) conducted by Government of Andhra Pradesh.

Management Quota - As per the guidelines of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE), an advertisement shall be released in the newspapers by specifying the courses and the number of seats under management quota. All the applications received shall be scrutinized and shortlisted. The merit list shall be prepared on the basis of merit basing on the criteria of ranking at the state/central level competitive examinations like EAMCET/AIEEE or percentage of marks obtained at qualifying examination level subject to a minimum of 50 % of marks.

MVGR College of Engineering Admission Process

Maharaj Vijayaram Gajapathi Raj College of Engineering (MVGRCE) offers various engineering and professional. Engineering courses offered by MVGRCE includes 7 B.Tech courses and 5 M.Tech courses while professional courses include MBA and MCA. Admission to various courses offered by MVGRCE is done through convenor quota (through entrance examination, 70%) and management quota (30%). Various branches of engineering in which B.Tech is offered include civil, chemical, computer science and engineering, information technology, electrical, electronics and mechanical engineering. For admission to B.Tech courses, candidates have to appear in AP EAMCET after which the qualified candidates will be called for the counselling process. In order to take admission in M.Tech, candidates have to appear in Andhra Pradesh Engineering Common Entrance Test (ECET). Admission to MBA and MCA programme will be done on the basis of score obtained by the candidates in Andhra Pradesh Integrated Common Entrance Test (AP ICET). Admission processes for different courses offered by MVGRCE are discussed below step-by-step:

B.Tech

Candidates have to apply and appear for Engineering Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET).
Qualified candidates have to appear in the counselling process conducted by Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE).
Selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of score obtained by the candidate and choices made by the candidates during the counselling process.

M.Tech

Candidates have to appear in GATE/PGECET.
Qualified candidates have to register for the counselling processes conducted by APSCHE after which they have verify their document at any of the help centre.
Selection of candidates will be done on the basis of score obtained in GATE/PGECET and choices made by the candidates during coulnselling process.

Maharaj Vijayaram Gajapathi Raj College of Engineering, Vizianagaram has adequate infrastructure and provides essential facilities to the students for their enhanced learning experience at college. The institute has a library with a vast collection of books and it has 9 departmental libraries apart from the central library. The laboratories are well equipped with advanced instruments and are used for practical sessions. Students can also be a part of various sports and MVGRCE cricket ground, volleyball court, basketball court, badminton court. Seminars/conference Halls of Maharaj Vijayaram Gajapathi Raj College of Engineering, Vizianagaram are used for organising various events, worships, meetings, conferences, etc. The facilities of Maharaj Vijayaram Gajapathi Raj College of Engineering, Vizianagaram are listed below:

Library: MVGRCE has 9 departmental libraries along with one central library. The libraries are opened to all the student and faculties member of the college. All the libraries have a vast collection of books related to different topics of studies and subscription to various magazines and journals. The libraries at MVGRCE also has a subscription to various e-resources.

Laboratories: Different laboratories are present within the different department of the college. The labs have all the latest equipment which are required for the practical purpose of the students.

Sports Facilities: MVGRCE provides both indoor and outdoor games facilities to the students. Indoor games facilities include Table Tennis, Tennicoit etc while outdoor sports include cricket ground, volleyball court, basketball court, badminton court. Student at MVGRCE has represented the college at various national level events.

Transport: MVGRCE provides transportation facilities to the local student. The college has more than 30 buses which are used for the student pick and drop.

Hostels: Separate hostels are present for girls and boys which can accommodate up to 700 boys and 300 girls. Hostels have all the basic utilities to fulfil the basic requirements of the students.

Medical Facilities: The college has a first aid medical examination room which has all the necessary equipment. A medical officer is present within the campus to assist the student at any point in time.

Cafeteria: A well hygienic neat and clean cafeteria is present in MVGRCE which caters the student during the daytime.

Seminars/conference Halls: MVGRCE has a well spacious hall for seminars, conferences and guest lectures. These halls can also serve as a platform for various cultural activities within the college.

Boys Hostel
A privately owned and maintained boys’ hostel abetting the college campus is being encouraged to provide the necessary residential services for boys. The boys' hostel with all necessary amenities is getting ready by June 2017, to accommodate 350 students in the first phase that will expand to 1000 in the next phase.
Girls Hostel
Girls hostel measuring about 80,000 sft. for a strength of 350 students, wherein 32 rooms accommodate 3 students in each room and 120 rooms accommodate 2 students in each room. An experienced fulltime warden takes care of students and their needs. The hostel features a separate reading room, completely digitalized library, a Gym for fitness, continuous power back, high-speed internet and access to the telephone for students.

The college has health center with first aid facility for the students.

Library
MVGR Library consists of a Central Library together with a Digital Library and nine departmental libraries which collectively support the Teaching, Research and Extension programmes of the InstituteThe Library has always been striving hard to meet the expectations of its users, with professionals and its supporting staff.All the students, faculty members and employees of the Institute are entitled to make use of the Library facilities on taking the Library Membership.
Sports
The College has well developed sports infrastructure in place catering to the student needs providing a whole some environment in getting to the stage of inter-university competitions. The volley ball court and gymnasium relieve the students from their routine thus providing moral energy in taking up new challenges. Dr. P.V.G. Raju Sports complex developed in collaboration with Andhra Cricket Association have everything to order in the realm of physical education. The students represent the college at various national level events in Cricket, Volley ball, Basket ball, Shuttle Badminton, Table Tennis, Tennicoit etc., proving themselves in all aspects beyond academics.

Cafeteria
Food for brain is supplied in classrooms and food for body is supplied at cafeteria. The spacious cafeteria offers varieties of delicious and hygienic food for the young minds. Apart from breakfast, lunch and dinner, students can have snacks, tea, coffee, soft drinks and confectionery. A team of experienced members closely monitor the quality of food and consistently upgrade the menu to match the tastes of young generation. Students can select their food from the menu which contains vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes at reasonable rates. There are separate cabins for faculty and students. In addition, a fresh choice bakery outlet is also available within the campus.
Auditorium
Open Air Auditorium with a capacity of 1200 provides ambience for students to exhibit their talent during mega-events like College Annual day celebrations, Student Fests etc. It also provides platform for welcoming parents at the time of student induction program on the first day of college.
Transport Facility
A fleet of 33 buses take responsibility for picking up students and dropping them to their respective destination. The facility is for the students who commute from Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam and Bobbili regions. A total of 24 buses allocated for Visakhapatnam, 6 buses for Vizianagaram and 3 buses for Srikakulam and Bobbilli regions. Separate bus facility for all the first year students is an added advantage for the new learners. Everyday students reach their destination safely by availing the facility. The bus in-chargers would closely work with the transport convener for the students’ comfortable journey. In- addition, the convener addresses to any special requests or concerns related to transportation. In addition, there are number of public and private transportation available, for every five minutes, from the campus.

Transport
OBJECTIVES:
To provide a Safe and Comfortable service to students and faculty.

Considering the need to provide comfortable and safe transport to the students & staff, MVGR is operating non-profitable basis, a fleet of 25 buses (Ashok Leyland with express seating) from various areas of Visakhapatnam (Kurmannapalem, Gajuwaka, Scindia, Purnamarket, MVP colony, Seetammadhara, Dwarakanagar, Pendurthy, Simhachalam), Srikakulam, Bobbili, Saluru, Kothavalasa, L Kota, S Kota, Cheepurupalli, and Vizianagaram, etc., in the city and terminate in the institute campus. The buses are filled to exact sitting capacity only and no standing is allowed. Separate bus facility for all the first year students is an added advantage for the new learners. Everyday students reach their destination safely by availing the facility. The bus in-chargers (Staff and students) would closely work with the transport convener for the students’ comfortable journey. In- addition, the convener addresses to any special requests or concerns related to transportation. In addition, there are a large number of APSRTC city and route buses which touch Aynada Junction (@MVGR) bus stop on the National Highway, which is just 1 km away from the Institute. A staff member can be assigned from each department as a transport member and he/she will look into the issues/suggestions/schedules in their respective departments.
