Education is the heartthrob of any civilized society In 1942, when India was still under colonial rule, the need of education became all the more crucial. Realizing this the visionaries of Malad and Kandivli areas came together and established Malad Kandivli Education Society. Harbouring the dream ofproviding high standard education, Malad Kandivli Education Society founded Sheth Nahalchand Laloochand High School in 1942-43

edicated to the cause of education; the Malad Kandivli Education Society expanded its branches and established many new ducational institutions. It has groomed many young minds into responsible citizens over these many years. Thousands of students have one out of its portals and today occupy important positions in the Society. In its 60 years of existence, the society has achieved many ilestones and one such significant milestone of the Society was the establishment of the College in July 1983

The College was started with three classes of commerce by creating wooden partitions in the dilapidated hall without any government grant and in the very first year, 330 students enrolled. In the next year, College was shifted to the present building. In 1988, Arts stream was commenced and the senior College was named as "Nagindas Khandwala College of Commerce and Arts' and the Junior College was named as 'The Bombay Suburban Grain Dealers' Junior College of Commerce and Arts. After 5 year of its existence the college received the grant from the government. The College ran in two sessions morning and evening for nearly a decade. In 2001,the evening session was scraped and the degree College ran full-fledged in morning and the Junior College ran in the afternoon session

N.K.College is conferred with autonomous status by the UGC from the year 2016-17. The college is fourth under Arts, Science and Commerce Colleges to be autonomous under the University of Mumbai. The college has 27 UG, 15 PG and 4 Ph.D. programmes. 40% of the faculty members are Ph.D. of which 25% are Research Guides.

With the establishment of our college in the year 1983 with just 300 students, today we are one of the best institutions that provide quality education to 4659 students. The strength of an institution is measured not by its number of students, but by its results, quality of the faculty, its contributions for the all-round development of its students, the achievements of the students, its inclusive nature and Management

ADMISSION :

Nagindas Khandwala College offers a 3-year duration B.Com. (H) course in three different specializations: Auditing & Finance, Banking & Insurance, and Financial Markets. The admission to NK College B.Com is given based on merit scores achieved by the students in the class 10+2 class level board examination. However, the candidates must not have secured less than 45% in the aggregate for admission in the B.Com. Course. Interested candidates can fill the application form online or offline by visiting the official website and college office respectively. However, the candidates first have to register themselves as new users on the official website of Mumbai University.

Nagindas Khandwala College offers B.Com. seats on the basis of reservation criteria for different categories: SC- 13%, ST- 7%, DT-3%, NT1- 2.5%, NT2- 3.5%, NT3- 2% OBC- 19%, SBC- 2%, PWD- 3%. Besides this, the college reserves 50% seats of B.Com. for unreserved categories. Along with B.Com, the college also offers M.Com., B.M.S. and Ph.D. courses in the field of Commerce. Ph.D. is the only offered course for which Nagindas Khandwala college conducts entrance examinations.

The aspirants have to qualify the entrance exam with the required marks for taking admission into the Ph.D. course. Nagindas Khandwala college has ranked at 1st position among the top 10 Indian private higher education institutes for ‘Best Management Practices and Systems’ in the Education World Higher Education Grand Jury Award 2020-21. In the terms of placements, the B.Com. graduates are recruited in multinational companies with a decent pay of 27 thousand per month. The placement percentage record of Nagindas Khandwala is quite good around 75%. 

Nagindas Khandwala College UG Admission 2023

Nagindas Khandwala College, Mumbai, offers undergraduate level courses in the disciplines of Arts, Commerce, Management, and Information Technology. The basic eligibility criteria for admission to these programs is a pass in HSC/ 10+2 from Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent. Selection of candidates is done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination

Key Points to remember for UG Admission:

• Preference is given to candidates from Nagindas Khandwala Junior College.
• Candidates who have passed the HSC or other qualifying examination from other than the Maharashtra Board, should produce Eligibility Certificate from the University of Mumbai along with the application for admission.
• For B.Sc. IT, merit is calculated on the basis of Marks in Mathematics and Statistics in HSC, Aggregate marks of HSC or SSC.
• For direct Admission to B.Sc. IT (Second Year), candidate with post HSC diploma in Information Technology/ Computer Technology/ Computer Engineering/ Computer Science and Allied branches will be eligible.
• In B.Com (Honours) and BMS, minimum marks of 40% marks is eligible for reserved category candidates.
