National Institute of Design, Haryana, was established on November 15, 2016 as an autonomous institute under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, to emerge as a global leader in Design Education and Research. The institute aims at becoming the torchbearer for innovative design directions in the industry, commerce and development sectors.

NID Haryana’s multi disciplinary environment consisting of diverse design domains helps in creating an innovative and holistic ecosystem for design learning and delivering solutions focusing on the emerging needs of people integrated with digital and cutting edge technologies.

NID Haryana currently offers full-time four year Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) with specialisation streams of

INDUSTRIAL DESIGN,
COMMUNICATION DESIGN and
TEXTILE & APPAREL DESIGN.

The Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) commences with a two semester rigorous Foundation Program followed by six semesters of specialized courses. Teaching methodology incorporates Industry and Field exposure.

To build a design aware/conscious society through education that fosters and invention, aimed solving problems, staging experiences and speculating futures, in service individual and collective well being.

Admission to the design courses at the NID is conducted through a Design Aptitude Test (DAT). The exam comprise DAT Prelims and DAT Mains. The final result or merit list is prepared by giving weightage to DAT Prelims and DAT Mains.

PLACEMENTS

The Scholarship Grant is introduced by NID Haryana from AY 2020-21 onwards.

The key features of the Grant are as follows:
1. The Scholarship Grant will be given on the basis of meritorious performance of students.
2. The Scholarship Grant is also available to students of economically weaker section.

New Admission Topper INR 50,000 in Foundation year.

Criteria:
Scholarship Grant will be given to a new admission student of Foundation Batch with highest open rank in the NID Admission Exam provided that the open rank is 60 or above.
