NEW PRINCE SHRI BHAVANI ARTS & SCIENCE COLLEGE was established in the year 1999 and is located in a sprawling green campus with a right ambience for pursuing higher education by the ABARANJEE AMMAL EDUCATIONAL SOCIETY which also runs several educational institutions for more than three decades.

The college is affiliated to the prestigious Madras University. It offers career-oriented educational service leading to Graduation and Post-Graduation in Arts and Science disciplines. It is a co-educational institution catering to the need of the day. The aim of the college to ensure an all sided development of the student and to offer many co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

The college moulds students with qualities of love, discipline, courage, honest, creativity, moral values and social etiquette which make them a famous personality to serve the nation.

The college promotes active engagement of students in various associations like NSS, YRC and ensures holistic development to them. Workshops, seminars, industrial visits, educational trips, social projects, Inter- collegiate events etc., are periodically organized to help the students have better exposure and emerge out as successful leaders.

Admission to the UG degree programs:

Have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (XII Std.) in all subjects conducted by the Tamil Nadu Board of Higher Secondary Education in the Examination held in 1980 and thereafter.

Have passed the Senior School Certificate Examination (XII Std.) conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education in the examination held in 1979 and thereafter in not less than 5 subjects of which English shall be one.

Have passed the Indian School Certificate Examination (12 Years), Conducted by the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, in the examination held in 1977 and thereafter in not less than 5 subjects of which English shall be One.

Have passed the Pre-University Examination of any recognised Statutory University or Board, Higher Secondary School or Intermediate Education in India.

Have passed any Examination conducted by the Government of a State or University of Statutory Board, (other than Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the Tamil Nadu Board of Higher Education) under the 10+2 pattern and after 12 years of study in not less than 5 Subjects of which English shall be One.

Have passed the first year examination (Arts & Science) Conducted by the University of Bombay.

Have passed the Intermediate Examination (two years Course) Conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh.

Have passed the Pre-University Examination (two years course) conducted by the Board of Pre-University Examination, Govt. of Karnataka.

Have passed the Pre-Technical Examination conducted by the Board of Technical Education and Training, Chennai. Candidates who have passed the Pre-Technical Commerce Course Examination conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training are eligible for admission to the degree course in Humanities only.

Have passed Examination outside India after putting in a course of 12/13 years duration provided that such candidates shall have passed the examination with not less than FIVE subjects including English.

Applicants who have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination or any equivalent examination recognized by the University of Madras are eligible for admission to any UG degree programs which will be taught under Credit Based Semester System.

Applicants who have Bacheloru2019s Degrees obtained from the University of Madras or any other Board or University accepted as equivalent thereto by the Syndicate are eligible for admission to any PG degree programs which will be taught under Credit Based Semester System.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS

All original certificates including the Community certificate produced by the applicants at the time of admission will be retained at the College office and will not be returned under any circumstances till the student leaves the institution. They are, therefore advised to take more than ten copies of all certificates before submitting the originals to the college.

No foreign student will be admitted to the College unless she/he holds a regular long-term visa issued by an Indian Embassy abroad.

PLACEMENT ACTIVITIES

·         Regular training on aptitude, verbal and non-verbal reasoning.

·         Special communication development training program will be conducted by experts from leading institutes.

·         A monthly hand on training on various technologies is conducted.

·         Regular interaction of the placement officer with the students for fine-tuning.

·         Organizing internship and in-plant training for the students to meet the corporate expectation.

·         Individual counseling to make them feel more confidant and overcome the barriers in the interviews.

·         Focus on 100% placement and encouraging entrepreneurship.

OBJECTIVE :

 To provide much needed life skills to students and help them to find job placements. The Cell offers guidance to students regarding different path ways in higher education and other career opportunities apart from placement support.To assist students to develop or clarify their academic and career interests, and their short and long-term goals through individual counseling and group sessions.

Library

The Library is the second pillar of our Institution on which rests the building of knowledge in the minds of the students. A well-designed knowledge bank with fully computerized accessing facilities is provided to the students and staff members.

Laboratories

The college has a Well-equipped laboratory with sophisticated state-of-the-art equipment in all the departments. The laboratories are designed to achieve parallel growth in theoretical and practical skills keeping in mind the current developments.

Sports

The college has an Every year, internal competitions such as Volley Ball, Basket Ball, Badminton, Cricket, Foot Ball, Throw Ball, Chess, Racquetball and Carom competitions are conducted for both male and female students and also for faculty members.

Medical/Hospital

The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.

Cafeteria

The college has a canteen facility inside the campus. A variety of south Indian food, snack items, coffee, and tea are provided to the students and staff of the college with the highest quality.

Classrooms

The college has Spacious, fully-furnished classrooms with neat desks and benches, and light and fan facilities are being maintained in a proper manner, providing a clean and healthy environment conducive to study. Our faculties often used the power point presentations to the UG students and regularly for the PG classes.

TRANSPORT :

The College has a transport facility for students and staff from neighborhood areas to the College and back home. Students are expected to avail of the transport facility to enable him/her to be punctual to the College. Besides the regularly scheduled trips, the facility is extended for occasions like Placements and Training, Visit Local Industries, hospitals, NSS Camps, etc.
