ABOUT NSAPD
Nitte School of Architecture Planning and Design (NSAPD) was incepted in the year 2016 under the aegis of Nitte Education Trust. The institution aims to produce professionally trained Architects and Planners who are capable to evolve innovative approaches for the development and management of building designs. NSAPD offers Under Graduate programmes in B.Arch and B.Plan. NSAPD is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological university and is approved by AICTE, Council of Architecture, Institute of Town Planners, India and Government of Karnataka. We are the only institution to offer the B.Plan program in Karnataka, which is approved by AICTE and affiliated to VTU.

At NSAPD, we constantly encourage students to explore, innovate and engage in cross- disciplinary thinking. This will pave the way to find sustainable solutions for the problems faced in urban India. We have the best infrastructural facilities in Karnataka and our building itself speaks for the design education we provide in the campus. We share the campus facilities with Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology. This ensures a collaborative space for the students to learn and work with peer groups from other branches of engineering and management..

We focus on multi-dimensional and holistic development of our students to enhance their threshold capacity. Students have various clubs to pursue their co-curricular interests. We facilitate opportunities to interact with experts from different fields through workshops, summer schools, study tours, webinars, conferences etc. In addition to the cultural events and fests, we also have a Technical Open Hub. We have also established IGBC Nitte SPAD Students’ Chapter in association with NMIT, Bangalore and IIA Nitte SAP Students’ Centre. These tie ups will go a long way in giving students opportunities and exposure.

Admission to B. arch based on valid NATA scores. For admission to the B. Plan program, the Candidate must have appeared for any one of the following examination CET or COMEDK UGET or JEE paper 2/3 or NATA.

Nitte Deemed to be University offers scholarships for BArch programme

Nitte University has launched scholarship schemes in 2022 to support meritorious students seeking admission to Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) programme at Nitte Institute of Architecture (NIA).

Nitte University is accredited with ‘A+’ Grade by NAAC; awarded Category ‘A’ status by MHRD GoI and ranked 77th in NIRF 2021. The University is in the 401-450 band in the QS Asia University Rankings 2022 and 201-300 band in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2022.

The 5-year (10-semester) B.Arch programme is approved by the Council of Architecture (CoA) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The curriculum combines hands-on training with theory-based education. Students can explore design through materials such as clay and wood. Design structures are taught using models and scenarios that occur in real life so that students can learn in an actual and professional manner. Thus, students studying at NIA are ready for the market and professional careers in the world of architecture.

Merit Scholarships: Students who have passed Class 12 in India with more than 80% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are eligible for fee concession.

Excellence Scholarships: As much as 40% of the seats are earmarked for Excellence Scholarships which will be awarded to students based on NATA score. Students who have passed Class 12 in India with more than 85% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and good NATA score will be shortlisted under this scheme. Selected candidates will be charged a tuition fee of Rs 90,000 per annum only. If more than one candidate has the same NATA score, merit will be determined by the PCM marks.

Full Fee Waiver Scholarships: The top 3 students under the Excellence Scholarships category will be granted full tuition fee waiver.

The five-year BArch programme of Nitte University is recognized by universities worldwide. Thus, students who have completed the programme will be eligible to apply to various postgraduate programmes in Architecture, Urban Design, and Planning etc.

Sports
Sport is an integral part of the curriculum. Various sports facility are provided to the students within the campus. The college is committed to create a balanced atmosphere of academic, cultural and sports activities for the overall personality development of its students.

NITTE SAPD has excellent infrastructure for promoting sports for the benefit of students. The campus has a multi-purpose track, a hockey ground, facilities for cricket, basketball, volleyball, badminton and throw-ball.

Indoor sports such as table tennis, carrom and chess.

Library
The library at NSAPD, upholds the vision and mission of the college to fulfill the enshrined values. Towards achieving this, the centre strives to help teachers and students for academic, research, personality development and to develop the skillsets required for students’ growth. The library provides access to a wide range of resources such as books/e-books, journals/e-journals. The centre has automated its collections using free open source software, KOHA.
