Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT), Bangalore is a private autonomous engineering institution established in 2001. Commonly referred to as NMIT, it is located in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The institute was founded by Justice K. S. Hegde under the Nitte Education Trust. Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT), Bangalore offers a total of 38 courses at diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology courses include BE, M.TEch, MBA, MCA and Ph.D. NMIT Bangalore BE admission is based on the scores obtained in the KCET or COMEDK UGET exams. Once the results are announced, a cutoff is released. Candidates who meet the NMIT Bangalore cutoff must participate in a counselling process, during which seats are allocated based on merit. NITTE Meenakshi Institute of Technology Bangalore provides many scholarships to meritorious and deserving candidates. NMIT scholarships are SC/ST Fee Concession Scholarship, Back Ward Class Fee Concession Scholarship, Minority students Scholarship, Jindal Merit Scholarship, Prathibha Puraskar scholarship, Kittur Rani Channamma Scholarship and Scholarship provided by Municipal Corporation. To avail of the scholarships, candidates have to meet the eligibility criteria. Getting Education is no longer an insurmountable problem these days. Education loans are available to the needy and deserving students from the Nationalized Banks at reasonable rates of interest. Theses loans are repayable after the completion of the degree/diploma.

Financial Help

Academically intelligent and poor students to acquire higher education by giving them financial help in the form of tuition fee waiver. Relaxation in tuition fee is also given to merit position holders in the qualifying examinations/competitive examinations and position holders in the University examinations. The parents of meritorious students are also honoured along with the students in the annual functions of the Colleges.

The hostels are on campus and in close proximity to the college and hospital.

Hostel fee: The hostel fee for the first year which includes the caution deposit, mess advance and the room rent will be collected at the time of admission. The room rent for the subsequent academic years will be collected at the beginning of each year along with college fee. Caution deposit will be refunded only at the end of the course. Establishment charges and other utilities like electricity and water will be collected.

Allotment of rooms: Rooms are allotted to the students at the time of their admission. The students cannot vacate the room in the middle of the academic year. Boarders are also not permitted to change rooms in the middle of the academic year. In case the boarder wishes to change rooms, a written permission signed by the Head of the Institution and the Assistant Director (Student Affairs) is required. If a boarder fails to pay his/her dues to the hostel by the appointed time, then he/she will forfeit the room as rooms are allotted on payment only.

Mess: The mess advance collected will be adjusted against the monthly mess charges and any shortfall will have to be made good by the students. The vegetarian mess is run on a cost sharing basis. Based on the suggestions of the boarders, the mess committee will decide upon the menu. catering is not permitted. Hostellers can pre-book their favorite non-vegetarian dishes apart from their regular vegetarian menu through the “Paaka-shale” app.

Facilities: The hostellers are provided with a cot, cupboard, study table and chair. Every hostel has solar water heaters, WiFi facility, common telephone, TV room, reading room, visitors lounge, water coolers, generators, 24x7 security and surveillance cameras. AC rooms are available in some of the hostels. The hostels also have facilities for indoor and outdoor games.

NMIT transport facilities include a fleet of buses, which ply between the campus and Bangalore city. Students and faculty members can access the facility on a chargeable basis.
