Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar College, Affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University, was started with fund of the kallar community and is administered by the KALLAR KALVI KAZHAGAM. The Long –time dream of people of the area, to have a college, came true by the priceless effort of the P.K.MOOKIAH THEVAR B.A.M.P & M.L.A ,V.K.C. NATARAJAN, IAS and other well-wishers of the community.

The contribution made by farmers, the teachers of kallar and panchayat union schools and the common funds of the PIRAMALAI KALLAR community provided assistance to start this institution. The college is situated on the Madurai – Theni National highway at a distance of 3 Kms from Usilampatti Town. It covers an area of 54.65acres. The college was inaugurated on 05.07.1968 By Dr.T.P .Meenakshi Sundaram , The then Vice Chancellor of Madurai Kamaraj University,Madurai

The fish, tiger and bow with arrow in the emblem depict the composition of the erstwhile Tamil Nadu with the three kingdoms of Pandia Nadu, Chola Nadu and Chera Nadu respectively.The motifs of bharath and the temple tower in the emblem stand for nationalism and spiritualism accordingly, which is the motto of the college – Nationalism my body, spiritualism my soul. The sacred mantra of the patron Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar is found at the foot of the emblem.The lighted lamp in the heart of the motherland is the beacon light of knowledge.

Placement Experience: Placement offer for only B. A student was available. But Campus interviews are very easy to say, my friends. 5th-semester students are eligible for campus interviews. the company provides for all category jobs.

Procedure For Leaving The Hostel Permanently
Whenever a student wishes to leave the hostel, he has to submit an application to the Warden through the Dy. Warden. Only after getting the approval, the student can leave the hostel. While leaving the hostel the student has to hand over the furniture and electrical fittings to get a clearance certificate from the Dy.Warden. At the time of leaving the student has to sign the mess leaving register. The student has to pay the establishment and power charges for that mess month even if the student has taken food for a part of the mess month.

Mess Month
The hostel mess rate is calculated on dividing basis. The mess month commences from the first day of the calendar month
The hostels are under the direct control of the Principal, who is the Warden. The Warden will be assisted by Co-Wardens, Dy.Wardens, Residential Tutors, Hostel Superintendent and Hostel Staff.

Hostel And Mess Committee
The hostel and mess committee is constituted with the Warden as President, the Dy. Warden and the Student Representatives from hostels. The committee frames the rules and regulations from time to time for the effective administration of the hostels. Residents are required to adhere to the rules and regulations. Ignorance of the rules will not be accepted as an excuse. Violation of rules and regulations will be viewed seriously.
