Pattammal Alagesan College of Arts & Science at Athur the PAC has been a boon to the youth from the surrounding rural areas. Empathising with the students he has been constantly striving to improve teaching –learning and infrastructural facilities in all the institutions. With his keen perception and foresight he has continued to provide actionable insights towards betterment of the institutions he heads.

The Bhaktavatsalam Educational Trust was founded in the year 1958 by Thiru. O. V. Alagesan a freedom fighter in the Gandhiyan mould who later served with distinction in the Congress Party as well as the Govt. of India in various capacities. People of Tamil Nadu will always remember Thiru. O. V. Alagesan as one who was responsible for the ICF in Perambur, Madras Refineries Ltd, and the Madras Fertilisers Ltd., in Manali, Surgical Instrument Factory in Nandambakkam, Atomic Power Plant I Kalpakkam, the second mine cut in Neyveli, electrification of the Railway line between Tambaram and Villupuram and many more such projects, which continue to bring immense benefits to the State. Above all, as a Minister for Irrigation and Power, he was instrumental in getting the Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh, Maharastra and Karnataka to agree to give 5 TMC feet each from their share of Krishna Water to the water starved Madras City as early as in 1960. Thiru. O. V. Alagesan founded the Trust to commemorate the 60th Birthday of Thiru.M.Bhakatavatasalam who was a man of great integrity and devotion in rendering service to the people. Chengalpattu, in Kanchipuram District, has a special place in Thiru. O.V. Alagesan’s heart. It was he who played a crucial role in getting the Govt.Medical College established in Chengalpattu, He also founded the Bhaktavatsalam Shastiapdapoorthi High School and The Brindavan Public School at Athur.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE
Applications have to be filled in and submitted to the College Office in person or by post within fifteen days after the publication of HSC result. Photo copies of the following certificates are to be enclosed along with the filled in application form.

a) Transfer Certificate
b) XI & XII Standard Mark Statements
c) Community Certificate and
d) Adhaar Card

Filled in applications will be scrutinized and admission will be given based on conditions of eligibility prescribed by the University of Madras and the Government of Tamil Nadu.
Admitted Students well advised to make sufficient copies of the originals before submitting them to college.

FEES SCHEDULE
Fees, as stated in the schedule, can be paid in two installments one at the commencement of the odd semester and the other at the commencement of even semester. All payments are to be made in cash or by Demand draft. Cheques will NOT be accepted under any circumstances.

FEES ONCE PAID WILL NOT BE REFUNDED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.


TESTS & EXAMINATIONS
Class and internal assessment test will be conducted regularly. Besides these, Model Terminal Examinations will be conducted. Every student must attend all these tests WITHOUT FAIL. Parents shall be informed of the progress of their wards regularly through letters and phone calls


EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Students are encouraged to participate in Extra Curricular Activities to facilitate overall development of his/her personality. Various Clubs that promote talent in various fields, have been formed and a variety of seminars, workshop, and conference are regularly conducted.

SCHOLARSHIP
The College will help the students to get the Government Welfare and Farmers Scholarships and private scholarship (e.g. Lifeboat) for which the Income and Community Certificates are needed.

LIBRARY
Standard textbooks and reference books by well known authors are stocked and every effort is made to obtain all titles recommended. Multiple copies of popular books are bought to make them available to as many students as possible

COMPUTER LABORATORY
Adequate lab facilities are available with latest configurations.

SPORTS AND GAMES
Spacious play ground with facilities like football, basketball, volleyball, badminton and indoor games are available for students to pursue their interest in games

NSS, YRC &RED RIBBON CLUB
Students are encouraged to take part in the various club activities and involve in tree planting, community service and social service, blood donation, Medical Camps and literacy programmers. Certificates and Prizes will be given to the participating students

PLACEMENT
The Principal heads a Career Guidance and Placement Cell. Students can make use of the services. This cell will help the students in the preparation of their resumes and the same will be forwarded to potential employers. Experts and eminent persons from various fields are invited to address the students. Periodical training programmers are also organized.

BANK LOAN
The College will guide the eligible students to avail Bank Loan.
