PDA College of Engineering (PDACE)
Poojya Doddappa Appa (PDA) College of Engineering, Gulbarga was founded under the aegis of the Hyderabad Karnataka Education Society in the year 1958 by Late Shri Mahadevappa Rampure, a great visionary and educationist, to cater to the needs of higher education, particularly in the Hyderabad-Karnataka area comprised of Gulbarga, Bidar and Raichur districts. The college was started with 50% Central assistance and 50% State assistance, and a desire to impart quality technical education to this part of Karnataka State. PDACE, Gulbarga is the first institution established by the society and it even celebrated its golden Jubilee year, setting new standards in the field of education and achieving greater heights.
The PDACE campus is spread over 71 acres of lush land along the Mumbai-Chennai railway track and has a sprawling complex with gardens and greenery all around. The campus is located at Aiwan-E-Shahi Area, Kalaburagi, Karnataka.
PDA is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University and is approved by AICTE, NBA and NIRF. It is recognized by UGC, New Delhi.
The college receives grant in aid funds from state government. A number of projects have been approved by MHRD/AICTE, Govt. of India for modernization of laboratories. KSCST, Govt. of Karnataka is providing financial assistance regularly for the student's projects. The college is one among the 14 colleges selected under TEQIP, sponsored by World Bank and received a grant of Rs 10.454 crores under this scheme for its development.
The PDA College of Engineering offers 13 undergraduate courses (BE), 10 post Graduate courses (MTech) and 13 Research (PhD) centers. The eligibility for admission for BE is through KEA/COMED-K.
The Infrastructure provided by the PDACE in the 71 acres of campus area with lush green lawns and wide clean pathways also has State-of-the-art Computer Laboratories, Auditorium, Seminar Halls, Computer Centre, Reading Room, Digital Library, Wi-Fi enabled campus, ITBT Centre, Boys & Girls Hostels, First aid and Medical Facilities, Bank, Cooperative Store, Canteen, Power back up, Sports Clubs, Outdoor Games Courts, Cafeteria, Facilities for Indoor Games, separate Common Rooms for Boys and Girls.
Recognizing the excellent Facilities, esteem Faculty, progressive Outlook, high Academic Standards and record Performance, the VTU Belgaum placed abundant confidence in the capabilities of the College and conferred it with Autonomous Status from the academic year 2007-08, to update its own program and curriculum, to devise and conduct examinations, and to evaluate student's performance based on a system of continuous assessment. The academic programmers are designed and updated by a Board of Studies at the department level and Academic Council at the college level. These statutory bodies are constituted as per the guidelines of the VTU Belgaum. A separate examination section headed by a Controller of Examinations conducts the examinations.

· One of the few colleges to have Autonomous status for both UG and PG courses
· The first college to start Ceramics and Cement Technology course in South India
· The first college in Karnataka State to start the Electronics and Communication Engineering branch way back in the year 1967.
· Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan National Award for an Engineering College having Best Overall Performance for the year 2017 by ISTE (Indian Society for Technical Education).

PDA College of Engineering Application Process 2023
The process of application varies from course to course. The detailed application process for each course is as follows:
For B.E. programs:
- Candidates can apply through Karnataka CET by visiting the KCET website.
- The information brochure can be downloaded from the KCET website.
- Candidates are then required to fill and submit the online application form online after filling all the requisite details as given in the information brochure.
- Payment of application fees can be made online through e-Challan.
- Scanned copies of passport size photograph, candidate’s signature, candidate’s left hand thumb impression and parent’s signature are required to be uploaded.
- Candidates must retain the following documents with them as reference for future correspondence.
- At least three printouts of the finally submitted online application.
- Proof of fees paid
- 2-3 copies of identical photograph that scanned and uploaded on the online application.
Note: The process of application is the same as that of B.E. for M. Tech course. However, candidates must apply through the PGCET link instead of KCET link.

PLACEMENT TRAINING
The placement cell organizes on-campus and off-campus recruitments and pre placement training programs in aptitude test, group discussions, interviews and presentation. The pre-placement training is embedded in the curriculum from the academic year 2016-17 as follows
Communication Skill - I and II semester
Soft Skills - III and IV Semester
Aptitude - V and VI Semester
Professional trainers are hired to handle the above courses.
Earlier the Pre-Placement training was conducted for a duration of 3 to 6 days during the semester/vacation from the III semester onwards. By introducing pre-placement training as a course in the curriculum, the delivery of the course is steady, the learning is effective and the performance is measurable.
Mock interviews and GDs are conducted from the IV semester to VI semester in the pre-placement training course to face the challenges of recruitment scenario. Enhancement of technical skills such as Programming, Networking, Computer aided design and development etc are made through workshops. The cell motivates the students to get exposed to best industry practices through Industrial training and Internship during their vacations.
Technical and domain related sessions are conducted as Value Added Programs in related domain areas of Engineering to empower the student with the essential skill needed in industry.
From academic year 2017-18 Industry Internship Training program is made mandatory for UG students.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions : College Infrastructure: The infrastructure of ramjas college is one of the best in the north campus of Delhi university. The infrastructure of a college plays a vital role in the development of the college as the students are now focusing on the labs, classrooms, etc. academics. Currently, I am pursuing bsc[hons] chemistry, because for me chemistry is love, I just love studying and remembering things in inorganic chemistry and solving questions in physical chemistry, and remembering the name reactions in organic chemistry. The teachers and professors of our college are very friendly and helpful in nature that all I want in my college life. placements. the core focus of job placements programmes is to help students find employment in their field of academic study. These programmes provide guidance, career counseling and a range of professional development activities and ramjas placements are very good .students get a very good packages in different fields.

ABOUT
The central Library is a information hub of academic community and a centre of unbridled intellectual inquiry excellent library facilities to cater to the needs of Curriculum, research, consulting and general reading. The building is spacious with large reading halls. Digital library established to support CD/DVD resources and e-books. It has access to online journals through VTU e-Consortium and the publishers e-resources can be accessed and downloaded i.e. IEL Online, ASCE, ASME, Springer link, Elsevier Science Direct, Taylor and Francis, ProQuest Engg. and Technology, Kopykitab E-books and Sententia: an assistive tool for formal writing and active member of DELNET.
FOCUS
The mission of the central library is to provide information service and access to bibliographic in order to support the institute march towards its vision. It strives to provide information to faculty and students so as to meet their expectations. It has barcode reading facility and well equipped with modem facilities such as Micro Film Reader, Audio Visual Video Cassettes. A separate facility for access of E-Journals is also available in the library. Under VTU e-consortia, the faculty and students are able to access about 10000 online journals. Through DELNET the students can access the Library facilities of many reputed organizations,it has 85000 collections of books. The new library building is built with funds provided under TEQIP and modernized Digital Library equipped with high-speed internet and computers to access e-resources. It is completely automated and has the right environment for the students to read and gain information.
INFRASTRUCTURE
Central library is spread out in 1858 sq. mitres housed in a 3 storied building and this library has nice ambient and aesthetic surrounding. It strives to provide information to faculty and students so as to meet their expectations. It is completely automated using EasyLib software and has the right environment for the students to read and gain Information using barcode technology. A separate facility for access of E-Journals is also available in the library. Under VTU Consortia, the faculty and students are able to access about 10,000+ online journals. Through DELNET the students can access the Library facilities of many reputed organizations. Dedicated Digital Library comprising of 40 computers facilitate access to e-resources and to promote its usage, regular user training programmes are conducted to the users.
HOSTEL
ADMISSION
Applications for admission shall be made in the prescribed form, which can be procured from the Hostel Office on production of a copy of fee receipt paid in the college & on payment of prescribed Application fee
The duly filled Application approved by the Principal that He/She is a bonofide student of the college, shall be submitted to Hostel Office. The Admission shall be made strictly on merit basis not on first cum first serve basis.
CODE OF CONDUCT
It is mandatory for all the hostelites to possess the identification card duly signed and issued by the Hostel authorities. It is directed to produce on request by Security
The Main gates of the Boys hostels will be closed by 9.30 P.M. and the Main gates of the Girls hostel will be closed by 8.30 P. M. The gates will be reopened only at 5-30 A.M.
On saturdays the Main gates of the Boys hostels will be closed by 10.30 P.M. and the gates of the Girls hostel will be closed by 9 .30 P. M. The gates will be reopened only at 5-30 A.M.
Any hostelite coming late after the closure of the gates in the night, shall call the respective Wardens for permission to entry into the hostels. If permission is granted they shall surrender the Hostel ID to the security & record the reason for late coming in the late night register.
Repeated late comings will be brought to the notice of the parents & further course of disciplinary action will be initiated.
If a student goes out of the Hostel for more than 24 hours or on leave etc. he/she must inform & take prior written permission from their respective Wardens &the same shall be entered in the register maintained for the purpose.
CODE OF CONDUCT
Indulging in ragging or interference of any other kind is strictly prohibited. Any violation of this rule entails expulsion from the Hostel and action will be taken as per law. When a student is expelled from the hostels, such students shall not be entitled for any refunds from the hostel/mess.
They are barred from handling, tampering, fiddling with any equipment, scribbling on walls or displaying obscene & vulgar pictures or paintings, bursting of crackers are forbidden and are liable for disciplinary action.
Smoking, consumption of alcoholic beverages or intoxicated drugs, playing cards or any kind of gambling, keeping of any dangerous drugs or weapons, performing experiments in the hostels, shouting or causing any kind of disturbances inside or outside the hostel premises are strictly prohibited. Similarly no pets are allowed to be kept in the hostel premises. The Security is authorized to check the bags of any student at any time for prohibited materials, in case of a doubt.
Students shall not enter the Hostel premises in intoxicated state and should not possess such materials. Depending on the case, the Management reserves the right to take direct disciplinary action, mounting to even expulsion to short notice from the hostel.
ABOUT SPORTS
The department of Physical Education is an ever active department always since its inception in the year 1958, bubbling with enthusiasm and activities. An advisor sports committee consisting of principal and a few staff members helps me in organizing tournaments and sports competition.
OBJECTIVES OF SPORTS DEPARTMENT
To develop skills and fitness specific to a particular sport.
To develop physical fitness by maintaining and increasing speed, flexibility, muscular strength, and muscular endurance.
To develop an appreciation of the concepts of fair plays, honest competition and good sportsmanship.
To develop leadership skills and foster qualities of co-operation, tolerance, consideration, trust and responsibility when faced with group and team problem solving tasks.
To develop self esteem and self confidence through positive sporting experiences
TRANSPORT
The college has 2 Buses. One is exclusively used to bring girl students from hostels and the other is used for excursions, picnics, industrial tours etc.
