Admission Process

  • Admission is through the Pre-PG Entrance Exam conducted by RAJUVAS.

  • For M.V.Sc., the evaluation includes:

    • 80% weightage to OGPA in B.V.Sc. & A.H.

    • 20% weightage to performance in the PG Entrance Exam.

    • A minimum combined score of 50% is mandatory for eligibility. Merit list ranking follows this rule. 

    • Candidates under ICAR nomination

    • ICAR JRF qualifiers

    • Field extension functionaries

    • In-service RAJUVAS employees

    • Foreign nationals sponsored by ICAR/GOI 

Reservation & Seat Allocation

  • Reservations follow Government of Rajasthan norms for SC/ST/OBC/PH categories.

  • There is a special provision: one seat per discipline is reserved for field veterinary officers with proper NOC and these are admission-exempt from Pre-PG Test. Any unfilled seats revert to state quota

Eligiblity

  • M.V.Sc.: Requires a B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree recognized by the Veterinary Council of India, with a minimum OGPA of 6.0 out of 10 (general category) and 5.5 (SC/ST). Grading scales are prorated accordingly. 

  • M.Sc.: Candidates should hold a B.Sc. (Biology/Life Sciences/Biotech/etc.) under the 10+2+3 pattern from a recognized university

1. University Merit Scholarships

  • Awarded to the top performers in M.V.Sc. and Ph.D. programs—two per subject.

  • For M.V.Sc., continuation aligns with ICAR Junior Research Fellowship rules.

  • For Ph.D., awarded based on performance at the M.V.Sc. level and continues through the first 22 months of the program.

2. Need-Cum-Merit & Government Scholarships

  • Need-Cum-Merit Scholarship: For students whose guardians earn up to ₹20,000 annually and who score ≥ 60% in their previous exams

  • National Scholarship Scheme: Central government–backed awards for post-matric students in Rajasthan with parental income under ₹25,000/year.

  • Post-Metric Scholarships for SC/ST/NT: For SC, ST, or Nomadic Tribe students whose guardians’ income does not exceed ₹5,001/month; offers ₹280/month.

  • Other State-Sponsored Aids: Including scholarships for children of political sufferers, teachers, women’s merit awards, defense personnel families, and students with disabilities.

3. ICAR Scholarships

  • ICAR Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship: Offers ₹170/month (covers fees and charges) to students with ≤ ₹750/month parental income and ≥ 60% marks. Those exceeding that income may receive a cash prize and a merit certificate instead.

4. Freeship & Half-Freeship

  • Available to deserving M.V.Sc. and Ph.D. students.

  • Full freeship: Up to 10% of students.

  • Half freeship: Up to 20%.

5. Thesis Contingency Grant

  • M.V.Sc. students: ₹5,000

  • Ph.D. students (Course Work): ₹800

  • Eligibility: Completed coursework with required OGPA, successfully passed prelim/comprehensive exams, continual enrollment, and no overlap with other grants
