Prathyusha Engineering College, Chennai popularly known as PEC – is a self-financed Telugu Minority Institution managed by Prathyusha Educational Trust, Chennai.  The college was established in the year 2001, to promote engineering education with quality technical knowledge to all the students hailing from not only in and around Chennai, but from various districts in Tamil Nadu and neighbouring states.  This elysium of education, is the vision of the Founder Chairman Shri.P.Raja Rao, the well-known Industrialist and Philanthropist, to bring world-class education into this sylvan campus. In 2012, the institution expanded its research capabilities by opening a new research and development center.

The PEC campus, spread across a vast area of 60 acres of lush green environment, is located in Aranvayal Kuppam Village, Aranvayal Post, Tiruvallur Taluk, Poonaamallee-Tiruvallur Road, Tamil Nadu, about 30 kms from Chennai Central Railway Station.  Aranvoyal kuppam and is flanked by Thirumazhi, the new satellite township.

Prathyusha Engineering College, Chennai is affiliated to Anna University and approved by AICTE. The courses offered by the College are NBA accredited & Re-accredited programs. The college is a recipient of ISO certification.  PEC is Ranked 5th in 2017-18 University Results among 497 Engineering Colleges in Tamil Nadu.  The college was conferred with autonomous status from the year 2023-2024.  NAAC has accredited PEC with an ‘A’ grade.

Prathyusha Engineering College offers engineering courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels with B.E. (6 Programs), B.Tech (4 Programs), M.E. (5 Programs), M.Tech in Bio Technology and MBA, with an annual intake of over 630 students and 2 Research programs including M.S  (By Research)/Ph.D – CSE and M.S (By Research)/Ph.D – ECE.  There are over 2,500 students in the campus, with nearly 1/3 of them women.  There are 8 Centres of Excellence.

FREE EDUCATION is provided for wards of the staff members and for the school students who secure more than 90% cut-off in +2 with a family income of Rupees one lakh per annum.

The college library is occupied in the First floor Second floor and Third floor of the building. Our Library is Spacious, well ventilated well lighted with a total area of 1745 sq.m. Open Access System is followed in the library.Library is automated using Autolib Software . Central library is fully automated with Autolib Software (Web based). Total number of books 61263 and titles 12556 are available. In addition to which the central library also subscribes 60 printed journals e resources IEEE,, DELNET and NDLI (National Digital Library) 9 news papers, English, Tamil & Telugu. Books are classified and arranged according to the Deway Decimal Classification order (DDC). In this fully automated library, students and staff members can search the books by author, title, publishers or subjects and their availability.

Prathyusha Engineering College is well-equipped with a wide range of indoor and outdoor sports facilities that encourage active participation and physical development among students.PEC has the facility of spacious, clean and hygienic canteens and cafeterias that caters to the taste of all students and staff. In mess, South Indian vegetarian and non-vegetarian food are hygienically prepared by trained chefs. The Menu is designed taking into consideration the nutritional and calorific requirements of the student. High emphasis is placed on Quality and Quantity. Separate dining facilities are provided for men and women with seating capacity of 1500.

Transport

The College has a fleet of buses, vans and cars connecting students and staff from everywhere of Chennai to our campus. All buses are installed by speed governance system, which is certified by RTOs of various districts. Transport department is maintaining with well experienced drivers, cleaners, and mechanics under our management committee. We ensure comfortable and safe transportation among our students.Transport is also provided for sports, Special lab Class and late evening classes. On special occasions buses are sent for industrial visits and social service activities.A transport committee headed by a convenor is formed to take care of the smooth operation of buses and each bus has a Faculty Incharge to ensure safety by all means.
