Prince Dr.K.Vasudevan College of Engineering and Technology, one of the leading colleges of technology in Chennai as well as one of the fastest growing institutions of higher learning in India started out as a modest institute in 2009.  It is promoted by the Prince Educational Society which was established in 1978 by its Founder - Chairman Dr.K.Vasudevan, M.A., B.Ed., Ph.D, primarily to serve the needs of the local community. The setting up of Prince Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Nanganallur, Chennai, helped in the evolution of Prince Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Madipakkam, Chennai, which met this need. In order to serve the poor and the needy, he started a Tamil Medium School as well. Today this Educationist, Industrialist and Pioneer, heads an Arts and Science College and an Engineering College in Chennai. These Institutions aim at imparting quality education in the fields of Engineering, Arts and Science.

Prince Dr. K Vasudevan College of Engineering and Technology is situated in 65 acres of sprawling, pristine and verdant atmosphere on the outskirts of Chennai providing a perfect and conducive ambience just perfect for the purpose of learning and education. Our College Library was established in 2009 with the inception of the Institution. The total area of the library is 1118 sq. meters consisting of a spacious reading hall, textbook section, reference section, periodical section, issuing counter, and digital library section. The library has a large stock of books, journals, and e-resources. The print collection includes textbooks, reference books, periodicals, and their back volumes. In addition to this, books related to general reading, competitive examination preparation, and soft skills are also available. The electronic resources like Elsevier, J-Gate, IEEE, CMIE, DELNET, ACM, and e-books package are regularly subscribed. Students and faculty access these resources within the campus as well as remotely. Under the institutional repository, the institution has a collection of e-content developed by faculty, NPTEL video lecture series, department publications, and last five years’ question papers of affiliating University. The software such as typeset, AutoLib, and Non-Visual Desktop Access (NVDA) are installed in the library and made available. The institution has also maintained a separate departmental library in each department.

College has spacious canteen facility in the college premises and is run by college management. A variety of south indian food and snack items are provided to the students and staff of the college at highly subsidized rates with highest quality.Our college canteen is blessed with family atmosphere, with a variety of delicacies, touched by a home made flavour, cooked to perfection and served with a great courtesy.Refreshments are available at the college canteen at affordable rates. Adequate seating facilities are provided to accomodate students and staff even during peak time.The Department of Physical Education in Prince Dr. K. Vasudevan College of Engineering & Technology was established in the year 2009.

Hostel 

PDKVCET has well furnished separate hostels for boys & girls in the college campus. It has adequate high security and good discipline.Constructed in a calm and healthy location, the hostel for both boys and girls in college provided the complete residential facilities. The hostels also have a Wi Fi facility, recreation hall and provision for a variety of indoor games for the students. Students in the hostels have access to everyday conveniences including telephones and enjoy the luxury of watching a film every weekend.

Hostel Mess

Fine dining facilities, first aid facilities and recreations are provided separately for boys and girls. PDKVCET has deputy wardens for the welfare of the students. Safe drinking water and nutritious foods (Veg as well as Non Veg) are provided. Every effort is being taken for the comfortable stay of the inmates and make them feel at home.

Transport

• Transport for daily commuting is generally one of the worries of parents. To enable students to free themselves from the worries of transportation, we have made arrangements for College buses for students as well as staff.
  
• College is running bus services from different locations so that students hailing from any location within Chennai will have a nearby pickup cum drop back to point to board the college bus to come to college and to go back home.
  
• This will make them free from the mental tension of driving or taking public transport system, to come to the college and go back, so that they fully concentrate on their studies. Parents also can have peace of mind while their wards are out in the college and need not worry about the traffic and driving problem.
  
• A huge fleet of buses operates for the various destinations for students and staff. The college has employed qualified and experienced drivers .
  
• Bus/transport schedule is designed in such a way that buses will reach the campus 10 minutes before the commencement of academic work of the institution. In the evening the buses will leave the college as per the schedule.
