About

PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research also called as PSG Medical College is the most sought after private medical institution in Tamil Nadu.  It was established on 30 September 1985 by Charity Trust of P.S Govindasamy Naidu & Sons (1926).  The four sons of P.S.Govindasamy Naidu adopted Charity as their fifth brother and divided their ancestral wealth into, not 4 equal portions, but 5, the fifth one earmarked exclusively for Charity.  Realizing that illiteracy was at the root of all the ills of society, their generous and leadership qualities surged ahead to the fore witha clear sense of understanding of the prevailing malady and its cause. The Trust came into being to cater to the growing needs of education and industrialization in Coimbatore.  It was started with an aim to strike back at illiteracy with a missionary zeal and make education as their primary thrust area. The zeal of idealism continued and many institutions were born in succession in various disciplines.

PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research is a Teaching hospital and Research Institute located off Avanashi Road, Peelamedu, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.  The PSG Medical Campus is spread over 100 acres and is home to almost 10,000+ students and staff.  A total of 95,00,895 sqft building comprises of Academic wings, Teaching Hospital, student and faculty housing, and all administrative offices within the busy campus.

PSG IMSR has Affiliation with Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai.  It also has NABH accreditation.

PSG Hospitals, a 1400-bed, tertiary care hospital was recently awarded with JCI prime certification and has become the first hospital in Tamil Nadu to receive the accreditation..

Admission Procedure

Admission will be granted based on a valid score obtained in NEET UG. For MD and MS and Diploma courses, students must hold a MBBS degree in relevant discipline from a recognized institute. Admission to MD and MS courses will be offered based on NEET PG.

1. Qualify NEET UG exam administered by NTA .

2. Register for Tamil Nadu NEET UG counselling conducted by DME, Tamil Nadu .

3. Apply online via PSG IMSR portal, upload documents, and pay the admission fees.

4. Seat allotment based on NEET rank, category and preference.

5. Document verification, followed by fee payment and joining formalities 

• Seat Intake: MBBS ~250 seats; B.Sc programs vary per discipline

• Passed Class 12 (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry & Biology, and English.

• Minimum 50% aggregate in PCB for general category (40% for SC/ST/OBC)
