Rajah Muthiah Dental College & Hospital, Annamalai, popularly known as the Faculty of Dentistry, Annamalai University was established in the year 1980 as a  Government Educational Institute to provide higher education for a career in the field of Dental Health.

R.M. Dental College and Hospital is located in a huge campus in Annamalai Nagar,  C.Kothangudi, Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu.

Rajah Muthiah Dental College & Hospital is affiliated with Annamalai University, Chidambaram and is approved by the reputed DCI and NAAC, New Delhi.  The Management of the College & Hospital is working under Dr. S. Manian (Vice-Chancellor).

Rajah Muthiah Dental College & Hospital offers BDS at the UG level, MDS at the PG level and PhD at the Research level.  Admission to the college is based on the NEET-UG and NEET-PG/MDS entrance exam.

The Faculty of University - Dental Council of India granted permission to start the Master dental surgery programs in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery from to1987-88, and Periodontics, Pedodontics and Orthodontics from 1988-89, and subsequently in Prosthodontics under the Faculty of Dentistry.

The highest package received is 6 LPA, and the lowest package is around Rs. 80,000 per annum. Many students have joined private clinics and also government hospitals. Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is really good.

Scholarships
The students of Annamalai University can avail the Government Scholarships
subject to eligibility.
i. Applicable to only candidates selected through selection committee,
Directorate of Medical Education.
ii. (j) Post Matric Scholarship: In the G.O. (st) No. 6 Adi Dravidar and Tribal
Welfare (AD3) Department dated 09.01.2012, G.O. (st) No.92 Adi Dravidar and
Tribal Welfare (AD3) Department dated 11.09.2012 and G.O. (st) No.16 Adi Dravidar
and Tribal Welfare (AD3) Department dated 24.02.2014, the Government has
ordered to grant Post Matric Scholarship to SC/SCA/ST candidates, whose
parental annual income is less than Rs. 2,50,000/- (Two Lakhs Fifty Thousand) and
for SC/SCA converted Christians whose parental annual income is less than Rs
2,00,000/- (Two Lakhs) from all the sources. The eligible candidates have to submit
income certificate obtained from appropriate authorities.
iii. Higher Education Special Scholarship: Higher Education Special Scholarship is
awarded to the hostel students belonging to SC / SCA / ST and Converted Christian

categories. The Annual income from all sources should not exceed Rs 2,00,000/-
(Two Lakhs) per annum.
iv. An Equal Opportunity Cell and an SC/ST Cell is functioning in the
University to assist the students in availing the Scholarships, besides
carrying out various other activities for the benefit of the students.
