Regency Institute of Technology was established in  2000 by the Regency Educational Society, an agency sponsored by the prestigious Regency Group of Industries, to advance technical education by providing in-house hands-on training at an international ceramics complex in Yanam itself and expanding all facilities for further development. To nurture students, both professionally and privately, and transform them into responsible citizens able to face global challenges.

Under-graduate Programmes:  For admission under the Management Quota seats in any of the B.Tech. programmes, the candidates will be admitted based on the Intermediate marks or 10+2 group marks in the order of merit and should have fulfilled all the requirements prescribed therefor.

1. Candidates for admission to the B.Tech. Degree programme should have passed: The Higher Secondary Examination of the (10+2) curriculum (Academic Stream) prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu or any other examination equivalent there to with a minimum of 45% marks (a mere pass for OBC and SC/ST candidates) in aggregate subjects –Mathematics, Physics and any one of the following optional subjects:  Chemistry / Biotechnology / Computer Science / Biology (Botany & Zoology) or an Examination of any University or Authority recognized by the Executive Council of the Pondicherry University as equivalent thereto.

2. For Lateral entry into the Second year of the B.Tech Programme: The minimum qualification for admission is a pass in three year diploma or four year sandwich diploma course in Engineering / Technology with a minimum of 60% marks (50% marks for OBC and a mere pass for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate in the subjects covered from 3 to final semester or a pass in any B.Sc. Course with Mathematics as one of the subjects of study with a minimum of 60% marks (50% marks for OBC and a mere pass for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate in main and ancillary subjects excluding language subjects.

Transportation:  

RIT has a fleet of just 15 buses in addition to light vehicles. The transportation service caters to all student and staff transportation needs. RIT operates its buses from Kakinada, Ramachandrapuram, Amalapuram and Yanam. In addition to regular tours, complimentary transportation is provided for all sports tournaments, industry tours and visits, NCC and NSS activities, and any other special occasion.  In addition, transportation is provided daily at 8:00 p.m. for students and staff using the library and Internet browsing centres.
