Ravindra Nath Tagore Medical College, popularly known as R.N.T. Medical College, is a prestigious government medical institution in Rajasthan, established in 1961. It is affiliated with the Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS), Jaipur and recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC). The college is attached to Maharana Bhupal Government Hospital, one of the largest tertiary care hospitals in the region, ensuring extensive clinical exposure for students.

Admission Criteria

MBBS Admission 2025

RNT Medical College offers admission to various UG courses, and MBBS is the flagship course that is offered. The basic eligibility requirement for admission to MBBS is 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, English, and Biology from any board recognized by the state or the central government. Selection of the candidates in MBBS is based on the valid score in NEET followed by a counselling session.

PG Admission 2025

RNT Udaipur offers admissions at PG level to the programmes like MD, MS and PG Diploma courses in selected specializations. For admission to MD, MS or PG Diploma, candidates must have an MBBS degree from a recognized medical college. Admission to PG Diploma, MD and MS courses is based on the score obtained in NEET PG 2025.

DM and M.Ch Admission 2025

RNT Medical College offers two super-specialty courses, namely, DM in Cardiology, M.Ch in Cardio-Thoracic Vascular Surgery and Neuro Surgery. Candidates seeking admission in these courses must have obtained an MD/ MS degree in the concerned areas of specializations from any recognized medical college. Selection to DM/ M.Ch courses is based on a valid NEET SS score.

The placement process at the college involves both state and central government positions, with state placements occurring within 12 to 18 months. Salary packages for state government positions range from Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 72,000 per month, while central government positions offer between Rs. 70,000 to Rs. 200,000 per month. The college provides a mandatory one-year internship, with stipends ranging from Rs. 3,500 to Rs. 30,000 per month, depending on the specific program and location. Approximately 71-90% of students secure placements annually, with the highest package reaching up to Rs. 60 lakhs per annum and an average of Rs. 9 lakhs per annum.

Internship opportunities cover various medical departments and are conducted at the college's associated hospital, Maharana Bhupal Hospital, which is a major medical hub. Students also have the option to work in rural areas, which can provide a 10% quota in NEET PG exams. The internship program is crucial for gaining practical experience and is well-regarded for its comprehensive exposure to different medical fields.

Scholarship

The college primarily operates with low tuition fees, particularly benefiting reserved categories such as SC, ST, and OBC students who often receive scholarships or fee exemptions as per government rules. General category students do not have access to scholarships. Tuition fees for general students typically range from Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 91,800 per year, with incremental increases of about 10% annually.

Girls across all categories are exempt from tuition fees. Hostel fees are additional. A stipend of Rs. 14,000 to Rs. 17,000 per month is provided during internships. Scholarships are available based on caste and economic conditions, with Rajeev Gandhi Scholarship for Academic Excellence mentioned as an option. The government provides scholarships to students from families earning less than Rs. 3 lakhs annually.

Facilities Offered @ R.N.T. Medical College, Udaipur

The library is built in a 3 floor building and has more than 29000 Books and 18000 Bound Journal Library, also has more than 100 (55 National+ 45 International) periodicals.The college has also provided an E-Library facility, which provides access to 2500 online books. RNT Medical College has accommodation facilities for the students. Each hostel also has a Mess facility. There are a total of 6 hostels with a PG Boys hostel for 183 students, Sr. Boys Hostel for 201 students, Jr. Boys hostel for 96 students, PG Girls hostel for 50 students, Sr. Girls hostel for 96 students and Jr. Girls hostels for 53 students. RNT also provides recreation facilities, both indoor & Outdoor. These include a Gymnasium, Badminton court, Table tennis court, Volleyball court, Tennis Court and a carrom board.This includes 8 Lecture theatres, 100 demo rooms, 2 common rooms, 22 laboratories, an auditorium, 4 examination halls and e-classroom facility.The college also provides two canteens and a Guest House with 14 air-conditioned rooms.
