SSM College of Engineering - SSMCE is the Best Engineering College in Salem District of Tamil Nadu. It is promoted by the SSM Foundation Trust for Educational & Social Development. The College is a Private, Self-Financed, Non-Minority, Co-Educational Institution that was established in the year 1998 consequent to the persistent efforts of ‘Gnanathandhai’ SSM Subramaniam, Founder, who built up an an industrial conglomerate diversifying from the Textile Sector.

The College library follows the open Access System, and the Reference books follow the Closed Access system. Books are classified according to department wise and subject wise and are placed on the stacks. We check the availability of a particular book by using OPAC in library Software.We have Reference books, Newspaper, and Magazines. PG and UG students are allotted with 6 and 5 books for 15days and faculty members are issued 8 books for 30 days for a semester.The Best Library user award is given for students and faculty to who use the library resources mostly. Property counter facilities are available in our library.Before entering the library users should live their belongings at the proper counter and entry in the gate register.SSM College of Engineering has required no.of classrooms and tutorial halls in Main block-20, Hexagonal block (3)-28, and tutorial-1, board room-1, seminar hall-4, drawing hall -3. Seminar halls are with the latest teaching aids like LCD projector, slide projector, Wi-Fi connections, and overhead projector (5-nos), departmental laboratories (37no’s), library and 100 Mbps internet facility including LAN and Wi-Fi.

CITIUS ALTIUS FORTIUS – Fastest, Highest and Strongest is the motto of physical education. SSM encourages students to be healthy in body and mind. Sports provide an excellent opportunity for students to interact with each other, develop the true sportsman spirit, and also help them stay healthy. The students of SSMCE are divided into four groups and are reshuffled every year so as to develop a sense of comradeship and kinship. The students participate in fair voting to select their captains and vice-captains. Our students have represented interuniversity competitions and bagged several medals & trophies in various sports and games.

The College provides transport facilities with more than 20 buses and three vans for the convenience of staff and students from the nearest point of departure and to attend needs of industrial visits, educational tours etc.
