S.A. Engineering College is a Private Autonomous Engineering College in Thiruverkadu which started functioning under the leadership of D. Sudharssanam, a former M.L.A. SAEC was established in the Academic Year 1998–99 under the aegis of the Dharma Naidu Educational and Charitable Trust.   

SVEC is spread over a vast area of about 42 acres with well-planned and aesthetically designed campus has ultra modern facilities in constructed area of more than 4 lakh square feet which includes separate academic wing for each department.  The College campus is located in Poonamallee, Avadi Road Veeraraghavapuram, Thiruverkadu, Tamil Nadu. 

S.A. Engineering College is affiliated with Anna University, Chennai and has been functioning with the approval of the AICTE and the general policy of the Government of Tamil Nadu to give high priority to technical education.   The college has NBA accredited Departments and NAAC 'A' grade Certification.  In recognition of the quality system of high caliber being implemented for the administration of the institution and achievement of its goals, m/s. S.A. To promote a spirit of continuous learning among its students, S.A. Engineering College assures peaceful and enriching hours in the Central Library. One of the major highlights of the S.A. Engineering College is its 1371.5275 Sq.M., air conditioned central library that has a seating capacity of 300.

In this fully automated library, students and staff members can search the books by author, title, Acc. No. Publisher or subject heading and their availability. Each student is given 3 library books at a time and four books are given to each staff. Library hours scheduled for students every week. The Central Library of S.A. Engineering College is an institutional member of prestigious libraries such as DELNET, AICTE – ELSEVIER, AICTE – IEEE Delhi, NDLI and NPTEL.

The multi-cuisine cafeteria of the College is a two-storeyed building which kindles the taste sense and caters to the hunger needs of Guests, Inmates, Visitors, Staff & Students. It can accommodate 400 members to dine at a time. The cafeteria offers a wide medley of hygienic, nutritious South Indian Vegetarian and Non-vegetarian wholesome edible food. Arrangement has been made for the boys & girls to dine separately.

Transport

The College has a fleet of 30 buses to transport students and staff from various parts of the city and its neighborhood areas to the College and back home Transport facility will be arranged to every student. Every student is expected to avail the transport facility to enable him/her to be punctual to come to the College. Besides the regular scheduled trips, the facility is extended for occasions like after the College hour Special Coaching classes, Placements and Training, Visit to Local Industries, hospitals, NSS Camps, etc.
