S.A. Engineering College is a Private Autonomous Engineering College in Thiruverkadu which started functioning under the leadership of D. Sudharssanam, a former M.L.A.  SAEC was established in the Academic Year 1998–99 under the aegis of the Dharma Naidu Educational and Charitable Trust.   

 
SVEC is spread over a vast area of about 42 acres with well-planned and aesthetically designed campus has ultra modern facilities in constructed area of more than 4 lakh square feet which includes separate academic wing for each department.  The College campus is located in Poonamallee, Avadi Road Veeraraghavapuram, Thiruverkadu, Tamil Nadu. 

 
S.A. Engineering College is affiliated with Anna University, Chennai and has been functioning with the approval of the AICTE and the general policy of the Government of Tamil Nadu to give high priority to technical education.   The college has NBA accredited Departments and NAAC 'A' grade Certification.  In recognition of the quality system of high caliber being implemented for the administration of the institution and achievement of its goals, m/s. S.A. Eligibility
Eligibility for B.E / B.Tech Admission
Qualifying Examinations: HSC Academic / Equivalent
Candidates who have passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination with atleast the minimum aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics put together category wise.

Minimum Eligibility Marks:
General Category (OC) – 45% marks in aggregate
BC / BCM / MBC / DNC / SC / SCA / ST Category – 40% marks in aggregate

Qualifying Examinations: Diploma
Candidates who have passed 10+3 or 12+2 years Diploma / B.Sc (any stream) Examination recognized by Central / State Governments with Mathematics as compulsory subject.

Minimum Eligibility Marks:
General Category (OC) – 55% aggregate in all Semester marks put together
BC / BCM Category – 50% aggregate in all Semester marks put together
MBC / DNC / SC / SCA / ST Category – 45% aggregate in all Semester marks put together

Eligibility for MBA Admission
A pass in a recognised Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 years duration and obtained at least 50% (45% in the case of
BC,BCM,MBC,SC,SCA and ST candidates belonging to Tamilnadu) in the qualifying degree examination.

b) 10 + 3 years Diploma + 3 years pattern
c) B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Arch. / B.Pharm.
d) AMIE with 2 years full time Teaching Experience / Industrial Experience in the relevant field after successful completion of the course including project work and enrolled before 31.05.2013. An experience certificate shall be produced by the candidate.

Eligibility for MCA Admission
A pass in a recognised Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 years duration in B.C.A. or B.Sc. (Information Technology / Computer
Science or equivalent), or a pass in a recognized Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration (in disciplines other than the ones mentioned above) with Mathematics at 10 + 2 level or at Graduation Level and obtained at least 50 % (45% in the case of

LIBRARY
To promote a spirit of continuous learning among its students, S.A. Engineering College assures peaceful and enriching hours in the Central Library. One of the major highlights of the S.A. Engineering College is its 1371.5275 Sq.M., air conditioned central library that has a seating capacity of 300.
In this fully automated library, students and staff members can search the books by author, title, Acc. No. Publisher or subject heading and their availability. Each student is given 3 library books at a time and four books are given to each staff. Library hours scheduled for students every week. The Central Library of S.A. Engineering College is an institutional member of prestigious libraries such as DELNET, AICTE – ELSEVIER, AICTE – IEEE Delhi, NDLI and NPTEL.

HOSTEL
Full-fledged hostel facilities for boys & girls students have been established inside the campus.It also provides good and safe facilities of lodging and boarding to cater to the needs of outstation students. It has full fledged facilities with STD, ISD, Gymnasium, a reading room and a computer room. The students are monitored with their well being by an efficient and qualified custodian.
The newly constructed hostel provides internet facilities in a common computer center, recreation facilities exclusively for the hostellers.

CAFETERIA
The multi-cuisine cafeteria of the College is a two-storeyed building which kindles the taste sense and caters to the hunger needs of Guests, Inmates, Visitors, Staff & Students. It can accommodate 400 members to dine at a time. The cafeteria offers a wide medley of hygienic, nutritious South Indian Vegetarian and Non-vegetarian wholesome edible food. Arrangement has been made for the boys & girls to dine separately.

  The College has a fleet of 30 buses to transport students and staff from various parts of the city and its neighborhood areas to the College and back home Transport facility will be arranged to every student. Every student is expected to avail the transport facility to enable him/her to be punctual to come to the College. Besides the regular scheduled trips, the facility is extended for occasions like after the College hour Special Coaching classes, Placements and Training, Visit to Local Industries, hospitals, NSS Camps, etc.
