Salem College of Engineering & Technology (SCET) is a Top Class and Leading Engineering & Technology College in Tamil Nadu. The College was established in 2009 and is promoted by the Siva Sakthi Charities. Sri M. Loganathan is the Chairman and Sri S Balu is the Secretary of the Management Team. The objective of setting up the college was to create a world-class ambience in technical education to establish inquisitiveness in learning technology and pioneering research.

Salem College of Engineering & Technology is built on a sprawling green campus and located at NH-68, Salem-Attur Main Road, Mettupatty, Perumapalayam, Selliamman Nagar, Salem, Tamil Nadu. Salem New Bus Stand is walking distance from the College while Salem Junction Railway Station is 5.6 Kms and Salem Airport is 18.8 Kms from the College.

SCET is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The National Institutional Ranking Framework 9NIRF) ranked the College 308 out of 355 Colleges on All India basis in 2024. Admission Procedure

For undergraduate programs, candidates must have completed their Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, securing a minimum aggregate of 45% marks. Admission is primarily through the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counseling process, which considers the marks obtained in the qualifying examination. Applicants need to register on the official TNEA website, fill out the application form, and participate in the counseling sessions where seat allotment is based on merit and preferences.

Admission Process

• Candidates must fill out and submit the application form available on the official SCET website or through the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) portal.
• Admissions are primarily based on the merit list prepared considering the aggregate marks obtained in the qualifying examination. Shortlisted candidates are called for counseling sessions.
• Selected candidates must pay the prescribed tuition fees and complete the enrollment process to secure their admission.

Eligibility

• Completion of Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or equivalent (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
• Candidates who have completed a Diploma in Engineering or an equivalent qualification are eligible for lateral entry into the second year of the B.E. program

1. National Scholarship for Minority Communities

• Eligibility: Students belonging to minority communities (e.g., Muslims, Christians) with parental income less than ₹2 lakhs per annum.
  
• Amount: ₹25,000 per year, with ₹20,000 credited to the college account and ₹5,000 to the student's account.

2. Tamil Nadu Government First Graduate Scholarship

• Eligibility: Students admitted through TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions) counseling who are the first graduates in their family.
  Income Limit: No income limit.
  
• Funds are credited directly into the student's bank account

SCET Central Library initially setup in 2009. The Central Library building in a vast area 197.697 sq/m. The main aim of library is to provide right source to right user at right time. The collection of library includes Books, Journals, Magazines, Newspapers, Project documents back volumes and CDs/DVDs in the field of Science, Engineering & Technology. SCET Library consists of a Central Library and department libraries which collectively support teaching, research and extension programmes of the institute.
