HISTORY OF SARADA VILAS EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS
Sarada Vilas Educational Institution dates back to 1861, when it had a glorious beginning, with its founder the illustrious Rao Bahadur Bakshi Narasappa starting in Mysore city a school called "Sarada Vilas Patashala" to teach Sanskrit with the Royal patronage of His Highness, the Late Maharaja Sri Mummadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar. It soon shot into prominence, became a full-fledged primary school in 1870, and established itself at Lansdowne Building in 1901 with orientation to Anglo Sanskrit teaching.

The shift to Modern type of education come from the "Grand old man" of Mysore, late Sri.M.Venkatakrishnaiah during 1919, by starting Sarada Vilas High School, with him self as Secretary and the late Dr. K.R. Ramaswamy as its Headmaster.

Today Sarada Vilas Educational Institution imparts Education in almost all fields.

The whole admission process for all the courses offered is offline and merit-based. Any candidate who fulfills the minimum eligibility criteria can take part in the admission process. Admission to all the courses is based on the marks scored by the applicant in the concerned qualifying examination.

Eligibility
Any candidate who has passed the Pre-University examination in 10+2 or possesses academic qualification equivalent to 10+2 shall be eligible for admission for 5 year course and a candidate who is a graduate or post-graduate or possesses such academic qualification equivalent to degree are eligible for admissions to the three years course, The candidate should have secured at least 45% marks (40% for SC/STs) in their qualifying examination.

Scholership

The candidates must be studying in Classes 11 and 12 at a recognised educational institution in India. Applicants must have scored at least 60% marks in the preceding class. The annual family income of the applicants from all sources must be less than or equal to₹2,50,000.
