The Institute was set up by the Government of India – Ministry of Textiles as a Registered Society, under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act, 1975, vide order of Textile Ministry No.18011/20/2002-NTC dated 3.12.2002 in the premises of the erstwhile NTC Staff College, Coimbatore

Admission Procedure

The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International School of Textile & Management (SVPISTM), located in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, has announced the application process for the two-year full-time MBA programme for the academic year of 2025. It is an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, and approved by AICTE and recognized by UGC. A candidate will not be eligible through management quota/direct admission, as it is completely merit-based.

• Eligibility: Must be a Bachelor’s Degree holder from any recognized university with at least 50% aggregate.
  
• Upload and enter valid Entrance Examination marks from one of the following:
   1.CAT, MAT, CMAT, and SVPISTM’s entrance exam.
  
• Select your preferred MBA specialization from options such as: Textile Management, Apparel Management, Retail Management, Marketing, Finance, Human Resources
  
• Attend a personal interview, either online or offline, with the admissions panel at SVPISTM
  
• If shortlisted, you will receive an admission offer by email. Once offered admission, you must confirm your admission by paying the registration and tuition fees within the prescribed timeline.

The Institute has a well-equipped library with a large collection of books on textile and management oriented subjects. WEBOPAC facility is available for browsing all the database of the library. Excluding books, the library is also having a collection of Audio/Video Cassettes, CDROM, Conference proceedings, Project Reports, Back volumes etc. Since this is the only textile Institute which provides Management Studies under Textile field, the Library and Information Center serves the faculty, staff and the students with world-class information related to textile and management studies with good collection of Books, Journals, CD-ROMs, Online resources etc. To enhance the user satisfaction the Library adopts e-granthalaya software in library automation with quality professionals to serve the users.

The college has a spacious and air-conditioned Auditorium with the accommodation of 375 seats. Well-furnished, air conditioned and equipped with modern projection and audio systems for conducting academic events and important meetings of the college. Seminars and conferences are being organized to enhance the knowledge of the students through the talk of experienced, learned and scholarly people which is not possible only through class room teaching.
