Parle Tilak Vidyalaya Association’s Sathaye College located in the cultural hub of suburbs Vile Parle, is a well-known College affiliated to the University of Mumbai, founded in 1959. This Arts, Science College later on added Commerce faculty in 1982 and Sociology, Microbiology, and Psychology as courses from 2001 to 2016. New self-financing courses like B.Sc(I.T.), B.M.S., B.M.M. along with M.Sc. (I.T.), M.A. in Hindi, M.A. in Buddhist Studies, and Ph.D. in Physics and a variety of certificate courses were later added during 2001-2016.

The college started some interesting intercollegiate festivals giving a platform to students to inculcate in them leadership qualities, organizational skills, and interpersonal relations. The college was twice accredited by NAAC with an ‘A’ grade. It was recognized in 2004 as ‘Best Vocational Institute’ at +2 level. Moreover, the University of Mumbai awarded the College in January 2015 as ‘Best College of Mumbai University (urban) for the year 2013-14. The college bagged the prestigious ‘Vice-Chancellor’s Banner’ on 25th November 2015 (NCC day) for the excellent work done by our NCC cadets in all these years and particularly in the year 2014-15. Parle Tilak Vidyalaya Association founded in 1921, established Parle College now Sathaye College, with a vision to establish an institution of higher learning. This Arts and Science college immediately attracted a large number of students and with Principal C. B. Joshi as the founding Principal, the college flourished. He pursued academic excellence relentlessly. Dr. K. S. Nargund, doyen of Organic Chemistry put the college name in the research area of chemistry.

The college has its alumni placed in various good positions, who have brought laurels by shining in all walks of life like administrative and foreign services, defense, education, art, film, theatre, sports, dance, music, I.T., media and so on.

The College has bagged the Best Vocational Institution (NCERT) Award at +2 level, Best NSS unit, and Best NCC unit awards. It was adjudged as ‘Best College of 2013-14’ and was awarded the certificate by the University of Mumbai on 26th January 2015. In the year 2014-15, the College was awarded ‘Vice Chancellor’s Banner’ for excellent work by the NCC unit. Our college students have excelled in all spheres of activities such as Theatre, Music, Dance, Debate, Elocution, Fine Arts. In sports, our students have been selected to represent our country.

The college organizes various programs to make students aware of the social and political scenarios at local and global levels. The students participate in a variety of social activities which makes them environment conscious and more sensitive, empathetic to the status of different strata of society. We understand that students’ future gets shaped in classrooms and hence they need to acquire the qualities to become global citizens here themselves.

Sathaye College, Mumbai Admission Process:

Sathaye College offers admission to the degree, self-financing and postgraduate courses. Admission to the courses will be done on the basis of the marks scored in the qualifying examination. The detailed admission process is given below:

For Degree Courses (BA/B.Sc/B.Com):

• Candidates should be passed in the 12th examination of the Higher Secondary Board (HSB).
• Eligible candidates should fill an application form on the University website and choose Sathaye College as their preference.
• Aspirants will be shortlisted on the basis of the marks scored in the 12th examination.
• Final admission will be offered after seat allotment, document verification and fee payment.

For Self Financing Courses (B.Sc (IT)/BMS/BMM):

• Aspirants should fill an application form on the University website and choose Sathaye College as their preference.
• For B.Sc (IT), admission will be done on the basis of the marks scored in the 12th examination in Mathematics.
• For BMS, BMM, admission will be on the merit of the marks scored in the qualifying examination.
• Final admission will be offered to the candidates after seat allotment, document verification and fee payment.

Admission 

·         Student seeking admission should apply in person during the hours notified for the purpose.

·         Every student has to affix his/her photograph on the Admission form.

·         A student seeking admission to the college shall have to person himself/herself along with an application in the prescribed form duly filled in and signed by him/her and by his/her parent/guardian, for an interview with the Principal. No admission shall be regarded as duly granted unless it is granted by the authority of the Principal and the necessary fees have been received by the college.

·         All admissions are valid only for one academic year and are required to be renewed by application in the prescribed form for every subsequent year of study in the college.

·         Normally, a student of this college who has qualified himself/herself for admission to a higher class, will be admitted to such a class, provided an application for the purpose, in the prescribed form, duly filled in, has been received with the necessary fees within the notified period.

·         Once a student is admitted to the college he shall be liable to pay full fees for the whole term.

·         A student once admitted will be considered as duly enrolled for the academic year, unless he/she informs the Principal, in writing of his/her intention to leave the college at least a week before the commencement of the Second Term. If no such intimation is received, full fees for the Second Term will have to be paid.

·         For admission to any class it is necessary to produce in original:
# Statement of Marks.
# Passing Certificate other than Maharashtra Board Students
# No Objection Certificate from the Head of the institution last attended in the case of students from other colleges joining the S.Y. and T.Y. classes.
# Eligibility Certificate from the University of Mumbai in the case of the students passing an examination other than the H.S.C. examination of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Pune or an Examination of any University other than the University of Mumbai, as the case may be.

Admission remains provisional until Migration Certificate/Final Eligibility Certificate/Passing Certificate / Transference Certificate is submitted to the college

Career Guidance and Placement Cell:

The Career and Placement Cell of the college has always worked towards securing Campus Recruitment  for the  final year students. In accordance with that , the students of  B.Com ,B.Sc(IT), BMM  and M.Sc IT have participated in numerous Pool  Campus Drive programs over the years. Quite a few of our students were placed in renowned companies like TCS, Wipro, CapGemini, Infosys, L & T Infotech, ICICI Prudential, HDFC securities, Axis Bank, iTech Solutions etc. 

Sathaye College Placements

Sathaye College has a fully operational Career Guidance and Placement Cell that initiates and executes every on-campus Sathaye College placement activity. The cell is dedicated to creating lasting relationships with the industries to help its students get promising job offers. Every year, it organises a number of top companies for the Sathaye College placement drives. The companies visit the campus and conduct placement rounds and recruit fresh graduates.

In addition, the Career Guidance and Placement Cell organises several skill development programmes, industrial visits, seminars, workshops, technical training programmes, expert talks, and mock interviews to prepare its students for the Sathaye College placements. The Career Guidance and Placement Cell, in association with TechnoServe has started the Campus to Corporate Careers (C2C) Programme. In the academic year 2019-20, the cell successfully implemented an on-campus technical training programme for T.Y.B.Sc(IT) and M.Sc(IT) students in collaboration with CloudFronts Technologies(Microsoft Partners).

The notice regarding filling up of form for particular scholarship or freeship will be displayed on notice board as well as on website. Students should fill the online form from above mentioned website and take print out of the form.
