Saveetha School of Law - SSL, is a Private Educational Institution and also the Oldest Private Law College in Chennai. It was established in 2009 and aims to strive for Quality Legal Education and maintains higher standards of Legal Research and Training. Saveetha School of Law is located at VND Nagar, Poonamallee, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The Saveetha School of Law, part of Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences (SIMATS), is located on a campus spanning over 180+ acres. SIMATS, the larger institution houses the School of Law. The university has a built-up area of 70 lakh sq ft. The campus hosts 13 institutions of the Group. Chennai Central Railway Station is 17.9 Kms from the College while the Chennai International Airport is at a distance of 26.5 Kms. Admission Procedure:

​The admission process at Saveetha School of Law, Chennai, involves several steps. Prospective students must first ensure they meet the eligibility criteria for their desired program. For undergraduate courses like BA LLB (Hons), BBA LLB (Hons), BSc LLB (Hons), and BTech LLB (Hons), candidates should have completed 10+2 with at least 60% marks. Postgraduate programs such as LLM require a completed LLB degree with a minimum of 50% marks . Applicants need to register online through the official website, fill out the application form, and submit the necessary documents. The selection process includes the Saveetha Law Admission Test (SLAT), followed by a group discussion and personal interview. Admission Process

• Candidates are required to appear for the Saveetha Law Admission Test (SLAT).
• Shortlisted candidates from the entrance exam will undergo a GD and PI to assess their communication skills, legal aptitude, and overall suitability for the program. ​
• The final selection is based on the combined performance in the entrance test, GD, and PI.

Eligibility

• Completion of 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks.
• Maximum age of 20 years for general category candidates and 22 years for candidates from reserved categories

LLB Eligibility – 3 Year Course

• Completion of 10+2 (HSC) or Graduate examination with a minimum aggregate of 60%.
• General Category: Maximum age of 20 years.
  
• Reserved Categories: Maximum age of 22 years.

LLM - 2 Year Courses

(Constitutional Law, Intellectual Property Rights, Criminal Law, International Law, Labour Laws, Commercial Law)

Eligibility

• Completed either a 5-year integrated LL.B. after 10+2 or a 3-year LL.B. after graduation.

Ph.D - 3 Year & 4 Year Courses (Full / Part Time)

Candidates must apply online through the official Saveetha University admissions portal,  Master’s degree in Law (LL.M.) with at least 55% marks. A relaxation of 5% is provided for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/differently-abled candidates.

Entrance Examination:

• Applicants are required to appear for an entrance test conducted by the university and must secure at least 55% marks to qualify.
  
• Candidates who have qualified in SLAT are teacher fellowship holders are exempted from the university's entrance test.

Ph.D + LLM - 5 Year Course

Admission Process

1. Merit-Based Scholarships

Eligibility: Students who have scored above 90% in their 12th-grade examinations.
Benefit: Up to 50% waiver on tuition fees. ​

2. Category-Based Fee Concessions

Eligibility: Students belonging to SC/ST categories.

3. Serve Rank Scholarships

Purpose: Designed to provide financial assistance to students based on specific criteria, possibly including academic performance and other achievements.

Transport

Saveetha University operates a fleet of over 150 transport vehicles covering various parts of Chennai and surrounding areas. These services are designed to facilitate daily commutes for students and faculty. The transport fee is approximately ₹43,000 per year, which is considered reasonable given the coverage and convenience offered.
