SB Patil Insitute for Dental Sciences and Research was established in the year 1991 under the leadership of the Chairman Dr. Suryakanth G Patil which was a dream of Late Shri.Dr.Galangalappa Patil. This college and hospital was established provide a quality oral health care to the people of Bidar and quality education to students of this region. Since 1991 more than 900 graduates have earned their degree and have been practicing dentistry not in different parts of Karnataka or India but are present throughout the world.
SB Patil Institute for Dental Sciences and Research is recognised by Dental Council of India, Government of India and is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru, Government of Karnataka. The college has been approved for intake of 40 students and college has the necessary infrastructure, faculty to provide quality training for the students. It is located on Humnabaad- Bidar Road, NaubadBidar. The campus has a spacious garden, hospital and dental college department clinics, lecture halls, library, boys hostel, girls hostel, a canteen/mess, an indoor badminton hall and a fitness centre.

Candidates must qualify for the NEET MDS entrance exam conducted by NBEMS; you can also check the NBE NEET Eligibility criteria to get the dept knowledge. After the Qualify the NEET entrance exam, candidates must participate in the Karnataka NEET MDS Counselling, conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority.

The average package offered is 4.5 LPA, the highest package is 7 LPA, and the lowest package is 2 LPA. The roles offered range from a dental surgeon to college professor to medical officer and the general position in an army as odonatologist.
