School of Planning and Architecture Vijayawada also known as SPA Vijayawada is a centrally funded national institute located in Vijayawada Andhra Pradesh. It was established in 2008 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development Government of India with the aim of promoting excellence in architecture and planning education. Admission Procedure

Admission to the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), Vijayawada, depends on the degree level: undergraduate admissions require clearing the JEE Main exam and applying through the JoSAA counseling portal, while postgraduate admissions are through the Joint Admission for Architecture and Planning (JAAP PG) process for specific programs. • Once allotted a seat via JoSAA/CSAB, candidates have to do physical/online reporting to SPA Vijayawada, submit institute fees, complete required formalities (document verification, anti-ragging undertaking, etc.) as per instructions.

Eligibility

• For both Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) and Bachelor of Planning (B.Plan): must have completed 10+2 (or equivalent) with Mathematics as a compulsory subject. 

• As per the 12th class marks: for general category — at least 75% marks (or be in top 20 percentile) in 12th board exam; for SC/ST candidates — 65% marks

B.Arch - 4 Years Course

Admission Process

Admission Process

• PG admissions are partly through a Direct-Admission route, and partly through a centralized mechanism (when applicable, e.g. via relevant national counselling, depending on the program). 

• Selection involves evaluation of academic credentials (qualifying degree, marks/CGPA), and may include written test + interview, and in some cases scrutiny of portfolio / statement of purpose (SOP) depending on specialization.

Eligibility

• For most PG courses: a relevant Bachelor’s degree (e.g. B.Arch or B.Plan or B.E./B.Tech Civil/Planning) from a recognized institute/university. 

• Minimum academic threshold: typically minimum 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA (on 10-point scale) for General/OBC/EWS; for SC/ST/PwD often 55% marks or 6.0 CGPA — or as per current Government of India norms adopted by SPA
