Admission Procedure

Admission to GGU's Engineering School (B.Tech/M.Tech) involves qualifying national exams like JEE Main (for B.Tech) and GATE (for M.Tech), followed by university registration, merit list creation, and mandatory counselling/seat allotment via the GGU portal or JOSAA for B.Tech, requiring candidates to meet eligibility (10+2 with Maths for B.Tech) and score well in the respective tests

B.Tech - 4 Years Course

Admission Process

• For most seats, admission is based on a valid score in JEE Main (conducted by NTA), followed by counselling through Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) / Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB). 

• After JoSAA/CSAB seat allotment, candidates must complete physical reporting at the university to confirm admission. 

• If seats remain vacant after the main allotment rounds, GGV conducts spot / local-level (special) counselling for leftover seats. This can be a chance for students who may have missed initial counselling or don’t have top JEE scores.

Eligibility

• For B.Tech programmes, you must have completed Class 12 (10+2) from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) as your subject combination. 

• Minimum marks required in 10+2/qualifying exam depends on category: general seats usually expect ~ 50% in PCM. 

• For certain B.Tech specializations (within IT: e.g. Information Technology, AI & Data Science, VFX & Animation), eligibility is through the same PCM + qualifying score + entrance requirement.

M.Tech - 4 Years Course

Admission Process

• Preference (for seats & scholarships) goes to candidates with a valid GATE score. 

• Non-GATE candidates can still apply: admission for them is based on entrance test or merit in qualifying degree (depending on seat availability) as per notices. 

• For 2025–26 session, applicants (GATE or Non-GATE) must submit online application + fee as per instructions, followed by counselling/admission selection.

Eligibility

• Applicant must hold a B.E/B.Tech (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline from a recognized university. 

• Minimum marks/grade required: often around 60% (or ~6.5 CGPA on 10-point scale) for General / OBC / EWS; and somewhat relaxed (e.g. 55%) for SC/ST/PwD candidates. 

• Final-year students (awaiting results) may be eligible provisionally in some cases.
