Shanmuganathan Engineering College(SEC) is a Top Class Engineering College in the Regionpromotedin the year 2001 by the Shanmuganathan Educational Trust. Mrs. Pichappa Valliammai is the Managing Trustee and Chairperson of the Trust. The College was established with a Mission to nurture students who are not only academically proficient but also deeply committed to serving society. Under her leadership, the college has grown exponentially, offering cutting-edge programs and state-of-the-art facilities to ensure that every student has the resources they need to succeed.

The SEC Campus is spread across a vast area of 25 acres in a prime location with lush green environment nestled in a peaceful and calm area away from the hustle of the cityproviding an ideal atmosphere for learning and personal growth. The College is located at Pudukkottai - Thirumayam Rd, Arasampatti, Pillivalam Post, Pudukkottai District, Tamilnadu. The Pudukkottai Railway Station and Bus Stand are approximately 16 Kms from the College. The closest Bus Stand is Thirumayam which is 4 Kms from the College.

SEC is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The College has an ISO 9001:2015 Certification and Accredited by NAAC.

Shanmuganathan Engineering College offers 8 B.E, 1 B.Tech and 2 M.E Courses in various Disciplines apart from 1 Ph.D Program. SEC offers Scholarships to eligible students from various communities. These include Government Scholarships, Merit Scholarships and Scholarships from other Organizations.

SEC has a very Active Placement Department which is conscious about the development of Student Engineers right from their Entry into the College. The Department of Training and Placement ensures in creating a platform to connect core Industries with campus and it leaves no effort in shaping the young minds to face Engineering challenges by designing Training Programs in line with Market Trend and Personal requirement of the Student.A specific Syllabus on Soft Skills & Aptitude has been formulated for the Students across the semesters.

An In-house Training Team trains the students from Second year on Soft skills & Aptitude, with special emphasis on Employability Skills for the Final year. Workshops and Seminars are conducted to hone overall skills of the Students. Some of the regular Campus Recruiters are ESAF Small Finance Bank, State Street IT, Royal Enfield, Joyson Safety System, L&T Financial Services, Duruva Finance Services, Sundaram Clayton. Scholarship

ST/ST SCHOLARSHIP – GOVERNMENT OF INDIA/TAMIL NADU

• Those candidates who are Indian citizens and who have passed School leaving examination, viz. Higher Secondary/ Indian School Certificate, etc. are eligible for this
• scholarship.
  
• The income of the parent should not exceed Rs 2,50,000 per annum.
  
• The scholarship is renewable from year to year within the stages of education.
  
• The candidate should not be in receipt of another scholarship/assistance from other sources.
  

Placement

The Training & Placement Cell of Shanmuganathan Engineering College successfully organized a Virtual Recruitment Drive for Workcohol, Chennai. As a result of the drive, 13 students have been selected for an internship. Upon successful completion of the internship, they will be offered full-time positions at Workcohol. The offer letters have been handed over to the selected students.

Hostel
